    Welcome zmann96 to the forum.
A lot of great information above on different kind of pellets which believe it or not can differ from stove to stove even being the same make and model. Good advice to grab a few bags to try in your stove or at least enough to heat for a few days to really see how they burn in your stove. As mentioned above as well pellets change from year to year.

At this time of the season everything out there is going to be expensive with the exception of a few mid-range pellets, I am in the same boat as you seeing I was out of action for spring and summer so I missed out on any spring sales which is usually when i buy. I am fortunate to have a lot of vendors in my area and have a large choice of many different brands to choose from but anything other than the mid range (MWP-NEWP) everything starts at $285-$300 range.
Ill echo what others have said with my experience LaCrete excellent softwood pellet if you can find them Vermonts supreme softwood pellet extremely low ash expensive but not at this time of the season everything is expensive, Cubex / Northern Max best hardwood pellet I have burned but went up drastically in price but at that same $290 range like everything else,
Maine's Wood Pellets 100% softwood (Down East bags) Great pellet and plentiful around here same price $285 .

Keep trying out whatever you can find most of us freaks here enjoy doing so and I am sure you will as well. You probably will not find any "great deals" but you never know.
    Have fun hunting !
