Have to start looking at other sources ,Mom & Pop hardware stores ,lumber yards ,Agway, ...... more $$$, but prolly still cheaper than oil, propane or electric. Glad I got a small stash :)

This cold spell is a wake up for wood and pellet burner alike. Got to have a little extra stashed away. If it isn't a cold spell (real), it is a fuel shortage, (staged) . Mother Nature will alway be temperamental and the a futures market is not a place for most of us honest folks. If you come across some good buys, tuck it away. Properly stored, it will always be there when you need it.

I'm thinking this will be short lived and mostly due to cold weather shut downs and equipment problems. My trucks have lost 8 running days in the last 30 just due to cold weather issues. We're prepared and used to running in severe weather conditions but it brought us to our knees. I have to believe trucking companies hauling pellets to suppliers are having issues also. Several of the mills I haul out of have also been shut down for a couple weeks due to extreme cold.

My stove dealer has two rail car loads of bulk pellets hung up out west due to weather related backups… has a 25 bag limit until at least one car shows up next week.
