We did have a very mild Fall , also I'm not running the stove as hard this year using Medium a little more and feed gate 3/4 open . Although with this weather back on high .
I typically burn 1 bag and it heats my whole 2,100 sq/ft house unless it dips close to or below freezing then I am into a bag and a half. I am curious because you guys have much colder temps and the rate you are burning seems very good to me unless you are only heating 900 sq/ft. If you are heating over 2000 sq/ft and only going through 45 bags in the teens and 20s, I want to know what the hell you are doing.
Haven't counted but rough guestimate is 25 bags tops . The joy of a smaller house ( 1275 sq. ft ) that's well insulated and a stove tweaked to max efficiency.
Some of us live west. Much more milder temps than you. Still, it brings me joy knowing any pellet burner out there is sticking it to the utility and oil companies.
Amen dotman, It gripes my arse terribly every couple of years when I need to get my 150 gal. of oil but sometimes it just don't pay to fire the pellet eater.
Yup, the Jan cold snap was rough. 47 here between the two stoves. Will most likely be 48 by EOD tomorrow.
This seems more like it. If you're experiencing sub freezing temps -- I'm thinking you're probably into at least 2 bags a day.
Wow, just WOW! I took a count last week as I was bringing in the last of the MWP, and I was at around 35 bags then. I was shocked that it wasn't more at that point as I went thru a bunch during the sub-zero nights and single digit days. But, we had a weekend where it was 50's, and another where it was in the 40's. I'll have to do a final tally for the month tonight.
