A lil. But so is tearing into that SBC and doing a full rebuild. No? :D

I could or maybe even a PLC. Monitor outdoor temp to adjust stoves feed rates/blower speed and even tell me when the hoppers is low or the burnpot needs cleaning. I surely could use a way to monitor it without treking down into the cellar!

But first a test stand so I don't need to keep swapping boards in the stove to test them. :D

I thinz on the test board I am going to use light bulbs instead of conv/comb motors/ignitor/auger/agitator. Incandescent not LED so the bulb will light with low voltage. Switches for the low fire/POF and high limit snap discs. So I can test if the open and close with ease.

Just something simple on a piece of lexan or plywood to tinker with!!

    Any other suggestions?

Actually the controls I did were not that complicated and used all off the shelf industrial parts....

What do you need to do...how much do you need...when do you need to do it....

All hard wired....LED indicator lamps to show wasssssup....real time volt meters to show fan voltage
Each component in the stove is individually fused......

I added a manual reset snap switch on the vent pipe....In case there was an over fire and things got hinky the snap switch will open at 250F and shut the power off to the feed motor.....stove shuts down.

Snap switch must be manually reset ......A safety device that can't leave questions.....IT GOT TOO HOT...

The controller supplied with my stove is doing an OK job. I might build something down the road when these become obsolete?

For now, I just want to repair and test my repairs to them. About all I have time for with the house reno going on. I'm not sure I'll even have time to build the test station as I have to get back to the honey do list! :D

    Hows about

    No eating and
    No touching

Anyone else wish to add to JT's "Honey don't list, he admits to having CRS so he needs reminding." :picard::dex::dex:

I'd like to keep the hi/lo, auto ignite and thermostat features. These might require a micro controller??

There he goes talking instead of just listening, it has to be worser than just CRS, might be contagious if I were you folks I'd run and not look back.

Since both our stoves are Whitfield I decided to build two controllers....Both stoves had issues with the factory controls and were in need of repair.

There were/are outfits that offered repair services on the factory boards....Sadly the factory boards had issues right out of the gate.....So fixing them really seemed like a bad choice....

I wanted more adjustments on all the functions as well as better safeties ....
I also wanted parts that can be replaced in a hurry when its going sideways and cold

They have them for these boards, But I'm frugal and want to do it myself. Kind of why I started the thread was to show others it can be done with some patiance. Not all these boards are total junk. Sometimes it just a bad relay-triac or thermistor to bring them back to life. 20 minutes under the soldering iron and I revived 2 that had minor issues.

Board #3 has a major no power issue. Fuses are good, Thermistor is good. Traced power all the way up to the processor. It has a 5V signal out. Had to put it back on the side burner for now. But I think one of the circuits has a bad resistor or inline fuse.

    Understood! :D

Factory code is doing as intended now that the 260 CFM blower has been replaced with the larger sister stoves 465 CFM. I managed to mechanically get around my issue with lack of blower umph! :D

Also DHC-4110-D has an inproved code over DHC-4100 as well. Just wished they added comb blower trim. But feed trim is sufficant. ;)
