Any information regarding exactly what brand(s) they are selling? Other than the "riddle" their website gives no info. Depending on the brand I would be willing to pull the trigger on a few seasons worth.
I don think so. Maybe in a Bear Mountain bag. Okies DF are going for $370 around here. Don't see anyone undercutting the price of them by that much.
I highly doubt they will be Okies DF's for 309/ton. My guess is Packsaddles or Olympus. I'll try calling them this week to see if they will give out any info. I don't understand the big secret......
My thoughts exactly on the price. We haven't seen Bear Mountains around here in their factory packaging for many, many years. Unless of course you consider Okies DF's to be bear Mountains?
You guys are prolly right , I was just trying to connect the dots ,we already know that the Okies are re bagged
Yes, Doug did indirectly confirm that his product is indeed Bear Mountains. Excellent product. I am however intrigued at the 309/ton pricing for another Douglas for pellet.
Doug poo pooed my thought but I wouldn't be surprised to see some Bear Mountains at the usual Lignetics spots.
Bottom line for me is Doug Fir @ $309 /ton I don't give a Chit what bag they come in my gut instinct is they are gonna be good
You can NOT truck or even rail product from the left coast to the other side of the country for $100 per ton...be it rail or truck...show me a trucker that will bring a load about 2500+ miles for $100 per ton and I will give him A LOT of business....but it won't happen. The cost of freight is almost as much as the cost of the product and that will apply to HD or Lowes as well as Robbins....there is lot more too it than meets the eye which is why I just have to laugh sometimes when I see comments on how the general public thinks that there is so much money to be make by selling pellets.....dream on guys...its much harder than you think it is....
yea, transport is shockingly expensive......every time I get a transport bill....dear god! Tho ya cant blame a guy for trying to get the cheapest he can on a very good pellet. This year was our first year heavily into the DF pellet market.....a learning experience, for sure, but customers overwhelmingly seem to prefer them (even if they are a softwood! ). The only issue is the premium they go for versus the more local products, such as you might see in the Big Boxes. I think we did about 20 carloads of the stuff, don't have any right now, so.....a basic success? On another note, Doug.....still on at the Sole Proprietor for Monday the 13th? I don't get back from St John till late Sunday, and I'll be hungry!
