The reason our electric rates are going up is because of NG. There isn't enough existing pipelines to meet winter demand for NG, which a lot of the electric generation uses, so the prices go through the roof driving up the price of electricity.

Went to the local HD today to pick up a few things and of course I had to check out the pellets. All FSU and plenty of them. Had to be over 200 tons in their yard. Price is still $239. Also stopped at the Wally World next door to see what their price is. Still selling MWP at $219. Picked up 5 bags at $4.38 to add to the stash. I'll probably grab 5 bags a week as long as they have them at that price.

$4.38/bag is a great deal - it's less than I paid for them at TSC's early buy discount price!

Last year the local Ace Hardware had Hammers for $199 a ton this year they had 16 tons on there first load and sold out the same day at $210 a ton and are now saying the plant is telling them not to expect any till the middle of December. I am not sure what is going on with that. I purchased a ton of Pres-to-logs Today for $239 at Home Depot.

Everything I've heard about PTL's is that they're a good pellet. Haven't had the chance to try them myself.

I picked up 4 bags to try at the beginning of the season and have been very happy with them I have a cheap timber ridge pellet pusher and had problems getting clinkers with the Hammers so far no problems with the Pres-to-Logs surprisingly both the Hammers and Pres-to-Logs are made fairly local to me both company's being in WV.

Found some AWF hardwood at a local TSC but at 254/ton. Is that worth trying as it seems a bit high to me.

Well those prices look good to me, the best prices in my neck of the woods are in the $235 plus range. I guess for me it would depend on what the other options are. They were a very good pellet last year, but if you could get say MWP for $230 or so I would pass.

Fireside at HD for 239 as well as MWP at TSC for 239 as well. I passed on them when I saw them but may try a few bags just for future reference on quakity in my stove.

Ive got 30 bags left from last year (well 28 now that there are 2 in the hopper) and going to get more for the shoulders. They burned well for me and are one of my first choice of Big Box when available but always looking at other options.

I would take the FSU's at that price over the AWF all day. If prices were equal it's a toss up IMHO. But like you said, its a good idea to try a few anyway for future reference.

Based on my experience with the AWF last year I'd pay that.

I really liked the AWF. Good hot clean pellet. Too bad you couldn't get some G, I put them up against some of those $300+ pellets out there. I may not have filled the whole stash. But would have put at least 1 ton in for the cold spells.

Better grab the FSU before there gone too.
