You are correct that just because your dealers do not have pellets it does not equal a shortage for everyone else. Edit: Oxford, MA.
I know of four retailers that can't get wood pellets by me. independents are the ones that will feel the shortages not the box stores. two of them buy NEWP and the won't ship to them anymore.
I have seen several recent reports of Blazers at HD locations in PA. Keep a lookout, you may just find some!
So here is a dealer in your backyard...http://www.woodpelletsexperts.com/pricing.html They stock 16 brands of pellets of which they are only showing 5 currently in stock....not really my definition of plenty of pellets Here is another one not to far from you .....http://pelletsdirect.com They also stock 16 brands of pellets and they are showing slightly better at 6 currently in stock Both these companies update their websites on a regular basis......doesn't sound like they are swimming in pellets to me....and before you ask, no, I don't sell either one of these dealers, but the dealers I do sell in this area don't stock as many brands, but will still take all I can ship them and they normally don't last longer than just a couple of days if that when they get them in...so as far as seeing plenty of pellets everywhere around where you live....yes I disagree with you on that point....my guess is you may see pellets in a dealers yard...but few are actually available for sale...since most are already spoken for right now. Maybe I'm wrong....but I doubt it....
one of our local independents. his website http://mcmanusfuels.com/ I haven't bought any of these going to stop in one day and snag me a couple bags of each to try. any recommendations on what one I should try?
See this is what you fail to understand. One, because dealers have an issue DOES NOT mean there is a shortage. There is only a shortage if the public does not have access to pellets. Which I could go buy 400+ Tons today. All within ten miles. So shortage there is not. Again, this is a fact. Second, in regards to my you lving in Arizona comment. I just so happen to live maybe a quarter mile from the "woodpelletsexpert". Were you aware they had pallets of pellets outside their driveway this weekend advertising pellets for sale?? Guess they had some that were NOT spoken for if that were the case, would you agree? If you actually had your feet on the ground here you may see some of this, not going by what you hear.
