Just finished mulching the leaves into lawn. Picked up mulch blades and plate for tho BOM (Big Orange Mower, aka scagg). Does decent job. Dont have to go over and over and over and ...... just a few extra passes where the leaves get pushed out in front and right.

Just finished full pass #4 for the year, on leaf pickup duty. Another 4 hours gone. Unfortunately, there will be a full 5th pass this year. This chit is getting old.

Cleaned the P61a this afternoon. It has only been two weeks and the ash can was 3/4 full and the stove was nasty from the thermaGlos. Glad I am finally rid of them and on to other pellets!

Decided to tear out the bedroom closet walls and replace the thin rockwool with a nice layer of new insulation. The closet is freezing at the temps we have now - in the deep of winter it is downright fridgid. Part of it is that it is over the garage, and being closed up doesn't get any airflow (except from the bathroom, which still has a hole in the wall until I finish it, but I digress). The other part is the outside wall. In picture 1, it looks like there is crown molding up at the ceiling. Wrong answer since I already removed said molding.

Picture 2 - ARRGGHH, I forgot that the top 9" is open to the attic because they never finished off the outer plywood. Quick, cut some covers for those suckers.

Pic 3 is the scabbed in plywood and all seams caulked.
    plywood hole covered.jpg

Pic 4 - side next to bathroom completely torn out
    other side minus sheetrock.jpg

I left the back wall as it isn't in horrible condition - not great, but not worth my time or trouble to replace (and it has new insulation in there from when I re-did the bathroom). I got that wall, the door wall and the ceiling repainted tonight with 2 coats. And I stuffed in backer rod between the ceiling and those two walls to keep the air drafts away. Have to wait for the caulk on the plywood to cure before insulating so have the door open to keep it warm in there.

I was going to rip out the ceiling but have decided that since it is in good shape I will just cover with 1.5" rigid foam then another layer of sheetrock. Lowers the ceiling but I don't care and won't miss it. Will put in a new shelf and clothes rod. Also will build an insulated box to go around the plumbing - removable if needed, but will help protect it from the cold. Also will build up the floor with some insulation then plywood then a piece of linoleum that I already have kicking around gathering dust. Hoping that keeps it a little warmer in there, and if not, at least the plumbing will be better insulated.

Now, it will be interesting to see how long it takes to actually finish this project :emb:. Most of tomorrow is spoken for, so it ain't just a weekend project.

Jay, Don't ever let yourself get too big. The price is bigger than the waist line. I am paying that price now. It seems like a huge mortgage that will outlive me.
