My wife is a rural carrier for USPS. I have to listen to her bit*ching every day about all the F'ing Amazon packages she has to deliver. It's not just Sunday delivery. This post office doesn't do that.

We only get Saturday delivery in our rural area. Only exception is Just before Christmas.

Local office asks the carriers for volunteers to deliver packages only on Christmas Day.

Rural areas have different rules. Where I work, the 10:30am UPS delivery time for overnight doesnt apply to us because we are considered "rural" yet we can throw a rock into the city of Rochester

I may have confused you. Or need to learn how to type English. We get monday through friday as normal and Saturdays too. Sundays only around xmas time.

Some of the Cities near us get Sunday package delivery. But our rural area doesn't.

No UPS on weekends. Fedex weekend is saturday only unless they are red tagged.....

Am I the only one who feels that Sunday delivery really isnt necessary? Kind of like stores being open on the big holidays now.

Same here G............ Glad to see some of the stores are closing for turkey day. Holidays should be spent with family.

I can wait for the package. Not a big deal to wait until monday to get it. Its usually just toys anyway. :whistle:Only exception should be meds as many are now using online pharmacies.

Not gonna lie. I enjoy them. But it doesn't effect me negatively, neither do stores being open on the holidays.

I could see if I worked in either of those areas I would not be happy about it.

And to answer your question, no I don't think it's necessary are all. Thanksgiving day, black friday. It's all madness.

Well that just s*cks. UPS will place packages in my garage. Fed Ex will place packages just outside of the garage (under the eaves and not in the drip line either). USPS tries to stuff a 24x10 package into a 19x9 mail box - when it's raining. Doesn't matter that I ask them to place next to garage - it all ends up at the side of the road. Well, I there is one way to get me to waste my time to go into the big city to do my shopping instead of doing it online - and Amazon just found it 'cause I'm not paying all that extra for another carrier).

    I find issues with it.
Depending on how long it takes to drink a beer, the others are getting warm.
If one goes thru them quick enough, then you don't bother carrying 6, your camped out by the receptickle that keeps beer cold (either you dont want to move away from it, or can't )

Wow, I have so many parcels coming in with the restoration of the truck and then there's Amazon. We have Amazon Prime and Subscribe and Save, as so many products we want aren't available locally. Fed Ex has historically delivered packages from time to time, anywhere within a two mile radius of us. A phone call or a friendly townsfolk will pull in the drive with our parcel, I have had to redeliver packages to other residents as their packages were left here erroniously. The USPS can do the same thing, but within a much smaller radius. UPS on the other hand has been rock solid for the 12 years we have lived here.

The kicker is USPS, will pull up and see you in your yard, wave to you, as we all know each other, put the mail in the mail box across the street, then pull in the drive to hand you your parcel. When asked about this practice, they say it's the rules.:picard:If this continues to spiral down the drain then I'll need a new music service also.

Well being a glutton for punishment I decided to go for a full system software upgrade on the little machine in the den. I made it through the update of the new release now to get everything back that is not part of the base system. See everything in about 3 months.

ETA: The boss is on her way to quilt club and gave me do the warsh orders.

Mine left me with the task of installing the new warsh-er, as the LG has been repaired three times already. Being twelve years old it's time for a new one.
