Pellet heads!! What's up today?

So good of you to have kept it out there. We got some snow, but a lot of ice this winter, and like everyone else, too damm cold chewing up my stash of pellets. But winter ain't over yet. Lots of time for more weather.

 

21 and snowing right now. At least it's not in the single digits.

There was a segment on the local news last night about the propane shortage. They interviewed the owner of a local stove shop talking about how pellet stoves can save tons of money. Which is fundamentally correct. No mention of maintenance or cleaning. Just 'dump a bag of pellets in and stay warm".

Makes me wonder a couple things.

1. Will the price of pellets go through the roof like they did in (I think) 2005?

2. How many stoves will show up on CL when people realize they have to be maintained, or the price of propane returns to normal?

 

Will shut the stove down and do a cleaning only because I can get around fairly well today. It is just about freezing and not windy. Very hard for me to get to the back side of my house when there us snow and ice. If I go slow and easy, I can get out there and back. Love having some sun ands warmer temps.

 

Going to clean mine too prolly tomorrow take care of the wood burner today and get a load of wood in the man cave looks like crappy weather mid week

Just sitting here waiting for the stove to cool down so I can get her cleaned .

Cleaned the furnace today. It had been 3 weeks since the last cleaning. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't clean either.

75 minutes from shutdown to startup.

 

Same here...stove is all clean and purring along on 3. Having an adult beverage.

 

Haven't fired it back up yet ,wood burner is keeping house at 70* warmer temps also helping

 

It's a winter wonderland here today , glad I took today off roads are real bad in the valley , wife just got home safe, she's a visiting nurse . Just did a quick snow blow of the drive way . Snow is supposed to stop in a few hrs then go back out and finish it off. This is only round 1 more crap for Tuesday night/ Wednesday Pics because we love them

True ,further down the line getting close to a foot this is the heavy wet snow get it cleaned up before it freezes up tonight.

 

Well we got 4 inches of snow yesterday. We are under a winter storm warning for tonight into Wednesday. We are supposed to get a quarter inch of ice. This is crazy. Over the weekend it was 50 degrees, I thought I was laying on the beach in Hawaii, minus the blonde girls in the bikinis with the long legs, now back to reality lol!
