I was wondering what was going to hold the porcelain grate over the damper in place, it must be gravity.

Oh the youngest survived yet another school year with the kids and is currently chilling at camp. I don't know when she heads to school for her classes but suspect it is soon.

Fairly certain the near-bulletproof 'Vettes will, but it's racin'....never know. Just hope the American contingent kicks all that Euro-trash crap's asses.

EDIT: Fords & Ferrari's hit with BOP (Balance of Performance) air & weight restrictions AFTER qualifying......seems some teams were sandbagging during practices.

    Thanks G,

My PCP can't diagnose what they think I have so he recommended I see this lady. She's a specialist for it and we hope she can diagnose it. If the MRI doesn't get to the bottom of it, Then they plan on an LP(lumbar puncture). She seems to have a good game plan to find it.

Hope all the dads have an enjoyable day with their family's.

    More baseboard nailed in

    OH MY GAWD
Crooked walls with short pieces of baseboard are a real beotch.

Had one short piece by the front door that was only a foot long and the short wall section had a nasty curve in the sheet rock at the floor line.
The baseboard spanned the section with a 1/2" gap in the center :picard:

LONGER NAILS and suck the baseboard into the wall.

Really hate that type of crappy job.

Ahhhh well, the application of a little white silicone to the miter joints and it looks great. :D

    Things are progressing slowly now.

A little here and a little there.

Today the last drapery brackets are in my gun sight.

    Pretty quick and easy job.

Did I mention that I hate painting with 3 purple passions

I'm with ya on the painting. However, it is one of the few things that can be done that gives a lot of bang for the effort.

Pretty sure it's the sound of coughing & hacking turbo's with less boost and more vehicle weight, after sandbagging their way through practices and testing....very un-sportsmanship-like for Ford & Ferrari:

"For the first time in recent history, 24 Hours of Le Mans race organizers have forced several cars to adjust their weight and other specs just ahead of the big event to try and even the playing field. That means the blisteringly quick Ford GT and Ferrari 488 teams weren’t showing their true pace before qualifying began.

Sportscar365 listed the following modifications to the LM GTE Pro-class cars’ Balance of Performance today:

    • Ford GT: 10 kilogram increase in weight over qualifying spec, reduction in turbo boost pressure
    • Ferrari 488 GTE: 15 kilogram increase in weight over qualifying spec, 2-liter increase in fuel capacity
    • Corvette C7.R: 0.2 mm increase in air restrictor size, 2-liter increase in fuel capacity
    • Aston Martin Vantage GTE: 0.2 mm increase in air restrictor size"
    And:
"Corvette Racing program manager Doug Fehan told RoadandTrack.com. "They repeatedly asked us to be as forthright with our speed as possible when we're on track. We give them a tremendous amount of data for which they make their [BoP] adjustments. I can only speak for Corvette Racing, but we have tried to comply with that at all times."

Without saying there's a belief the Ford and Ferrari programs have been less forthright in running at their full potential to then receive favorable BoP settings, Fehan simply stated the philosophy that drives Corvette Racing.

"We have always operated off three pillars: Honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship. And respect for the Le Mans race, and we continue to do that," he added."

"Honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship. And respect for the Le Mans race......" Ford and Ferrari, not so much. :picard:

    Yup.

A fresh coat of paint covers lotssa sin and the ravages of many years of hard use.

Finished the last of the drapery brackets this morning and got the valances hung over the Quad.

With the stove so close we can't have the drapes on the ends, so decided that the valances would give the area the finishing touches needed.

The next phase is to tear down the large drapes on the West end and finish the paint and do the final tweaks on the rod. (Need to insert the wood dowel and drill it to accept the oak finials)

After that work I will likely go after the Faux stone arch behind the Little Whit.
The top of the stove is bare in places, so will sand it good and give it a fresh coat of paint as well as the vent pipe.

That should get us looking really good in there.

With the paint close to the corner LR window finished, snapped a piccy.

DON'T WANT PAINT ON THE NEW DRAPES :bug:

Made it through most of the MRI. LOOONNNNGGGG scan. 3 hours to do the head, neck and mid spine. Then they wanted to do the contrast which would have added another hour and 10 plus minutes. I couldn't take any more and told them nope. By the time they got me off the table I had no feeling in my legs. And my back was in full spasm mode!

If she needs any more scans she's gonna have to schedule shorter area specific. No freakin way will I do that again................ Better yet stick the needle in my back and check the protein level in the spinal fluid. I'm done with this testing crap!!

I don't do MRI scans at all.

After my stroke they wanted to do a scan & I told them NO LITTLE TUBE TRIP FOR THIS CAT.

    I hate small spaces.

They did not have an open mri available, so let it ride.

My hats off to ya for handling that many hours of that beast.
