We never miss the carpets. I hope you will feel the same. Carpets accumulate dirt and odor that are hard to deal with. Area carpets work a whole lot better. Easier to clean or just replace.

Have a cookout to go to later today......the usual hamburgs, dogs, salads, etc, etc, and of course, some ice cold adult beverages. :grizz::beerbbq::cheers:
Too bad it's already 92* here @12:30PM. :dennis:

Oh, and of course, please remember everyone that as much as we all enjoy the holiday, tomorrow is meant to remember all those that served our country and gave the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you to them, and all that serve/served our great country!!! :usa:

I happened to be in Litchfield yesterday as well, but just for a couple of hours. I caught the crud my wife had all last week and left the cookout/party early.

The boss was complaining about having the crud, she originally thought it was her allergies, so more than likely I'll have it shortly. Our son's camp gets opened Memorial Day weekend and closed Columbus Day weekend although that wasn't the case the last two years Year before last it was Labor Day weekend. Last year I closed it in October before Columbus Day.

In other news, I got my refund from Netgear last Monday and my Federal Income Tax Refund on Saturday. Still waiting for Auntie LePage and company. No big deal in any event.

ETA: The like was for everything except having gotten the crud.

Those rhodies are beautiful, as is the fawn!

My rhodies are just beginning to get a few blooms opening up. Had a great show last year, so expecting a lesser show this year. Would be great if I'm wrong.

In my mailbox was a nice check for overpayment a couple years ago (he said he was leaving that accountant but has not yet:rolleyes:) and letter demanding $140 in taxes from 2013, AND!!!! another letter saying the IRS deducted $38 from the former refund check for 2013. OK:loco:

They have about as much of a clue as KC does when it comes to the tax code. It got to that point back years ago. I got into a whizzing contest with them when I was filing 10s of thousands of CTRs every couple of weeks.

    Lest we forget

    By Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place: and in the sky
The larks still bravely singing fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead: Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved: and now we lie
    In Flanders fields!

Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch: be yours to hold it high
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields

Composed at the battlefront on May 3, 1915
during the second battle of Ypres, Belgium

    Thanks for the Good comments.

My aching knees and sore "EVERYTHING ELSE" is trying to keep going.

Yessss indeed, Carpet collects dirt by the ton, and the only real way to keep it clean is not to walk on it.

Once the dirt gets into the jute backing of the carpet it's not gonna come back.

The traffic pattern areas had nearly 1/8 inch of fine sand like crap under the pad as well.

    YUCK

Yesterday saw some Pergo laid down, but we are at a jog in the room now where the living room heads North and the Pergo is gonna need to be cut in thin strips to fit along that area and allow the next full planks to follow the rest of the runs in the dinning room.

One great thing is that there are several thin strips that were in the odd pieces pile that will lend themselves nicely to the task and keep us from having to cut full pieces.

So far we are really using up a lot of the odd stuff.

Almost every row is able to use the odds and ends on each end. both starting and stopping.

I have only cut a couple full planks so far, and that was only because they had a chip or some damage at a corner and could not be used in the center of a run.

Hoping to get a bunch done today.

A few pix here to see.
A shot of the transition strip between the dinning room and kitchen, then a shot looking from the dinning room down into the living room with the West wall of the kitchen in the right of the pix, and then a reverse shot looking back out of the living room towards the dinning room.

Having some fairly heavy furniture to play musical go rounds with in this section is getting annoying.

Every move now has to be choreographed carefully and thought out.

I don't have the zip to lump these things around.

WE did find some cool little slider pucks that make moving big stuff real easy.

A plastic dish like affair with a foam pad in it.

Sit one under each corner of whatever needs to move, and it slides easily across carpet and the hard floor.

    And so it goes

Well, adding to the other members with things checked off on the "to-do"list was the pressure washing of the rear deck......done, and a well deserved smoothie to go along with it....just have to allow a good amount of drying, and some dry weather and it will get a couple coats of deck paint:
