I see everyone is here. Must be missing the action! Today I decided to through back together the Fahrenheit in case I need it. Slowly together she goes as today is zombie day, just finished the night shift. The weather has let off some so becoming more bearable, -17c tonight.

Are you sure you didn't bring that with you so you'd feel like you were home?

Careful G, I hear a linch mob is looking for the trouble maker that caused all this! They might come after you, right after they bring their weather forcasters out to the wood shed!

OK, Spent a little time with the cross reference catalogs. Fasco's 7090-3050 is an OEM specialty blower. No exact cross was available. AO Smiths STOCK NO. 9459 was referenced in a possible solution but will require mods.

A company rep told me to look for a higher RPM motor to replace the U90B1. Supposidly there is a 1725 rpm motor which will add approx 150 CFM to the blower. I'll see if "I" can do some diggin on a motor upgrade.

Might need some pic's of the motor and its mounting brakets so I can get an exact motor swap?

I'd think as long as the motor was a two speed motor then it should be OK as far as the contoller is concerned. The controller can be set to either 600 CFM or 800 CFM. I'm guessing that the controller switches on either the low speed or high speed setting on the blower (1100 RPM or 1450 RPM) based on how the user sets the blower speed.

If a two speed motor could be found that would be somewhere around 1450RPM/1725 RPM, in theory that should correlate to approximately 800 CFM on low and nearly 1000 CFM on high. That could be handy, but the price of the motor would dictate if it would be money well spent.

    (Thanks for digging around Jay)

Stopped at my dealer today (Fahrenheit) He had 2 units for sale, and the new unit is sold ($3K) and he still has the demo unit in his showroom.

Looks like there will be another Fahrenheit in my family. My Brother in law just got the keys to his house Tues. He wanted me to stop and get the New unit. With it being sold, he will be buying the used Demo unit that they used to heat there showroom.

They heated a pretty large area with just the Fahrenheit. The total sq footage of the room was over 3,200 sq, with 16 ft ceilings.

It's gonna need a good cleaning, motors removed and lubed, auger repacked, gaskets replaced, and I am gonna see if they will get the updated High flow exhaust manifold, and vertical hinge sail switch (horizontal hinge just hangs at a 45° and doesn't open fully, when pulling air through the system. Where the vertical hinge swings completely to the side and opens airway 100%.) Those two updates greatly improved the burn on my furnace. :)

Yet another stove I yet to clean and service every year :zip:

Called work today and told them we arent coming back until we get a week of warm weather we were promised in December. And yeah its depressing that it looks like home without the comfort of home. This morning the car showed 13 deg. But still wearing a short sleeve shirt and medium jacket and not feeling cold after about 9AM. :) Over packed with sweaters for the brutal cold that they foretasted but havnt needed them.

Here is a pic of the severe weather when they sent us home early on Tuesday afternoon....

Had an after hours job for a customer tonight. I left there about 7:30. Got home at 8:45.

Worst part is it's only 28 miles from my house. It was snowing and blowing so hard I couldn't hardly see the road. To top it off I got stuck in a drift in my own driveway. Just got done snow blowing and freeing the car from the drift.

Drinking beer now and not looking forward to 5:30 AM when I'll have to go clear the driveway again.

Finally warm enough and no wind, so I was able to carry out the boxes of Christmas decorations and put them back into the garage. Was a total waste of time this year. Tree never got decorated and neither did most of the house. Lost our electricity so we went to our daughters house for the celebrations. Was easy to do this year when they are still packed! Our outside decorating was limited to two wreaths. No Christmas lights. I almost think if was better not having to move so much stuff.
Most of the ice is out of the driveway. So far, not much of a cover of snow this winter, but still a lot of winter left. Some of our worse snowfalls have been in March.

Today was the first day I haven't had to run my snowblower this week. I didn't know what to do with the extra time tonight. So I cracked a beer.

Supposed to get another 5-8 inches tomorrow, so the reprieve is a short one.
