We just sold a beautiful home in the foothills of No Colo. I was up and away from town, but only 10 minutes from it. Mountain living was a treat where I lived for 20+ years. Clean air above the brown cloud, quiet, wildlife and birding. Now I get to enjoy the mountains in the view instead of outside my door. On the other hand I miss sidewalks, lawns, and paved streets...though I have never missed the yardwork...or,

Yes, I can deal without Wildfires. My dream retirement is somewhere with Mountains, Seasons and Snow. Might have to settle for New Hampshire. Moving to Montana and Wyoming ( been to both) is a bit of a haul for family.

Lets see. Rode the bike to work because I lent my truck to my niece for a couple of days, and froze my azz off. Performed various mechanical miracles at the shop all day. Forgot to call Heat Revival before they closed to see if my stove arrived, came home and helped son get an old pt cruiser running and sold. Once that was moved I could get my 72 El camino SS out and started so I don't have to freeze my butt off on my way to work tomorrow morning.
Hoping the stove arrived at the stove shop today, niece is bringing back my truck Saturday morning and I would love to lay my hands on the new e2 and at least get it on my property. Maybe I can get her installed on Sunday. EXCITED. gotta do a bunch of plumbing on Saturday, so not sure of what I will be able to accomplish with the stove. May have to wait until next week for the install.

Picked up 12 bags of the AWF ultra premium white pine softies today. First softie I've ever come across. Looking forward to a nice chilly day to toss them in the hopper.

If it were me, I'd be tempted to save them for a real cold snap in the winter.

Sorry. I was unclear. By "chilly", I meant "a temperature around -20". Either way, once I finish the install in the SCF 050, I'll have a combined 97k BTU of pellet heating, so pellet quality won't matter quite as much. Still looking forward to incinerating these. The Durango smelled awesome on the way home.

The boss thinks the garden survived this mornings temperature, which at 4:30 was at 30.3. I went down over the stairs, topped off the hopper, and turned the slide switch to auto. The cat conned me into feeding it before I went up the stairs and back to bed. There was a layer of frost on the neighbors bunk house roof. Knew it was going to be close when the temperature was in the 30's at 9:00 PM and the sky was clear. Hopefully we get another 2 weeks for the squash that has set. Sometime soon I'm going to have to get at the stove and tighten the auger up. It wasn't fun doing that kind of work went the arm was complaining so I didn't get things tight enough. Best I take care of that when I don't really need the heat. This shouldn’t be as bad as the couplings on the garden hose was. Us wimps took until the middle of August to actually get that one tight enough to hold together.

Our first whimp out of the season! We were going to head to the lake and do some fishing. Got hit with a chilly 20 mph wind and called it off. Will do some chores today and try again tomorrow. Catchin up on old news and doing some pellet research. Having a warm mug of joe and surfing the net, sure beats freezin the buns off!!

Hearing a ruckus outdoors, I went to have a look see. Neighbor is doing some splitting today. I just waved and pointed at my coffee cup. Told him, I'm all done. Mines cut, split and already stacked in the basement! :D :p

Cold and breezy outside. Dogs didn't want to stay out but just enough time to take care of their business. House is toasty warm. Stove is off right now but was on during the night. Today's goal is picking up and getting a hard wired phone put in by the recliners. (Wife never puts the portable back so it always need charging).:headbang:

You have finally discovered that they can't be trained. Stop hitting the head on the brick walls and let the phone be powerless when she goes to use it, in the meantime get an undisturbed nap.

I did just that. All three of them. One in the bathroom, the family room and in the office. And when she finds them all dead, well, I need to put in ear plugs because it is "my" fault they are not retuned to their charging bases.
The corded phone is my only way to put the problem where it belongs.

I have 4 phones in the house when the boss leaves one of them in her sewing room (she told me she never used the one that was in there and didn't need one there) and then complains the phone isn't in the living room beside her chair, I just say that's because you have it buried in sewing room somewhere. Give no quarter.
