My lady picked up 5 bags of Eco-flames today from her work at the tune of $2.50 a bag, gotta love working at a place that sells them and getting a deal. They were broken bags but missing maybe 2 cups of pellets each if I had to wager a guess.

The pellet stove is ON, pretty chilly outside.

It's been really dry here all summer. Fortunately, it's been cooler than average, so it hasn't hurt things too bad, although the trees have been looking pretty sick lately.

That's changing right now. There is a storm that's set up shop here for the last two hours, and it's not moving. Looks like it's trying to make up for the rest of the summer in one night. It's been pouring rain since 9, and there's no end in sight. It's a cold front that's coming through at an angle, and we're directly in the middle of the line. Let it rain!!!

Another hot sticky day forecast for us. Supposed to gets some thunder storms this evening. And a cool off for tomorrow. Might venture out to see what HD and Lowes has for pellets.

Maybe hang out in the A/C for today(drool over our fishing gear) and hit the water tomorrow.

Picked some peppers in the garden for kabobs tonight. I didn't see the stinging nettle that set up shop right next to the pepper plant. It's been a long time. I forgot how much those dang things burn. Witch hazel and a cold beer can is helping.

I read that after I did a quick google search to verify that the plant was what I thought it was. I can't imagine wanting to eat it after feeling my left wrist burning for the past 2.5 hours.

Can't say in lame you! I have eaten some weeds. Ones my grandfather from Canada told me about. I knew the he was a trusted reference. I had this weed that came in my garden every year. He told me to harvest it like spinach. He was right. A little vinegar, butter salt and pepper and I was having free greens.

Bah, frost advisories up for up the northern part of the state.

Camp is closed, son decided to do some more bike racing so he won't be coming up for Columbus day so the boss can't go up to camp get chilled and declare it heating season.

Canned some more beans today and looks like we will have plenty more and the squash is coming along fine. We already have a pile of that in the freezer, now if I can find a decent cool place to stash the rest of the squash. I don't think the garage will be cool enough until quite late this year.

I know it is good to be prepared, but I hate putting away supplies. Three carts full is a lot unless it us stuff like TP or paper towels. At least you can drive into your home. I have go get the wagon and pull it all in. Then much of it has to go upstairs. I would put in a lift if I could figure out where to put it.

We put the first floor stuff in through the front door and the downstairs stuff in through the back door (something like that).

Have all kinds of extra plastic bags from this shopping expedition, they put 2 bags of flour into a bag and double bagged it. So we got twenty bags from just the flour we bought. There is another list in the works so a bit later we will take a trip up the road a bit.

Got everything put away except the cat's stuff which goes in the den's walk in closet.

We did a dump run first so this afternoon I'll get the trash cans all clean and dry as well as back in the garage.

Maybe I'll bottle that batch of beer afterward.

Busy busy busy as usual. Not so much for me. Have to take the wife to Portland this afternoon for a surgical consultation. Herniated abd. wall from a surgery two years ago when it herniated and the bowel incarcerated and strangulated. Trying to avoid that again.

I try to stay away from all cutters, I don't envy your wife at all. My boss is at a doctors appointment at the moment, also in Portland. Hope things turn out ok.
