I picked up a couple tons of TSC bagged chows during the early buy in July and AFAIK they were leftovers from last season. They are fantastic though! Every batch I have tried so far has produced superb heat. A couple others on here have bought some recently too. Steve and Will should be able to tell you about this year's batch soon enough!

Dex....I burned some and really have no complaints. A bit higher ash volume than other pellets but good heat. Not as great as they were 2-3 seasons ago but still good. I would have two ton of Chows in my stash if I didn't find AWF and FSU @ $199

Me, I'm just rooting for the scores that will help me win money in the pools at work. Sadly, I have no idea what those numbers are since I didn't get a sheet before I left Friday afternoon. Probably better that I not know - I have never won anyway.

    Thanks for the replies!!

For $60 delivery, it's a no brainer. Gonna get 6 ton delivered this week. $60 delivery between 6 ton makes it well worth it!!!

That's still only $209 a ton. Gonna stock up and be set for the next 2 years. May add a few more Sets for the really cold nights.

Woohoo!! I feel like I hit the lottery! Thanks to eatonpcat for the heads up on where the Chows were!! I owe you a beer brotha!! :drunk:

That Champion is next in my list as well Although I may just buy the smaller 2000 watt one since I have a Champion conventional 3500 one if I need to run the sump pump.

What kind of Genny does you father have? A little surprised your stove didn't like running under the genny. Mine seem fine.

If you find yourself in a situation like that again, (although probably highly unlikely going forward) hit me up on a pm. You could have borrowed mine.

I'd almost compare the Chows to the PTL/Ligs.....the PTL's have always had a higher ash volume for me but good heat.

I believe he has a Harman - they only like clean sine (or something like that). Most generators are too "dirty" for Harmans to be happy campers. On the other hand, that is what enables them to shut themselves down gracefully when on a UPS, so there are trade offs.

It's a Black Max 6560. Says it supports 5250 running watts. I certainly wasn't over the load rating, I think it's just that this genny does not produce very clean power. I noticed even the refrigerators were making more noise than they usually do when plugged into it. Really hoping the inverter generator makes the stoves a lot more happy. Thank you for the offer, if something like this comes up again, I will PM you! I'm super jinxed so get ready to be PMed!

    Lol, we are all jinxed!

I can run this generator through the UPS and it doesn't think nothing of it. Never switches to battery, in fact I am running it right now as a test. You made me nervous with your recent trouble.

IHP how do you feel about that Cyber Power unit. I'm thinking of investing in one or two of those as well, so would appreciate your thoughts before I make a purchase. How long does it keep your stove afloat when there is a power loss? Do you have one for both stoves or just one of them?

I have both stoves on one. The West Point can run maybe 35 minutes. It is hooked up to the 1350 model and the fan is always on high. The EP is hooked up to the 1500 and this is on hi/lo fan speed 5. As you can see it says 98 min. It says a little less for the auger turning, but even then it says 70+ with a full charge.

The 1350 is usually around $180 and the 1500 around $200.

Amazon had a sweet black Friday sale this year and I got the 1500 for like $140
