Look at the differences in temps between your place and here. Sky is clear and temps are dropping. Wife was complaining. === fire! :MM:

We never ever use the calendar to guide us for heating. Heating isn't like anniversaries. When the wife says "I'm cold" that all it takes. If I don't jump to, she'll turn the furnace on. She knows that pee's me off so I'll light the fire before I'll burn oil. So tonight, no covers for me while the wife is under two blankets.

We like to cause trouble here so there is a no fire before Columbus Day rule in this house, that is also when we visit camp for the last time. This is usually when the otherwise it is too warm for a fire boss gets chilled and I have to burn or else.

You gave in again??? It was finally decent sun bathing and swimming weather and you gave in and lit a fire depleting your stash, just you wait until the real cold hits and your boss asks why you are out of pellets and heads for the oil beasts thermostat all the while cussing you.:picard:

I'll get cussed at anyway. Don't really need a good reason. You say "good sun bathing weather". Is that the voice of experience? I think I'll be needing more therapy to get that picture out of my head. :jaw:.

Hey what can I say, I hate the heat and love cool weather with lots of sun. It is my therapy and costs nothing.

So far, a very quiet holiday weekend. Didn't even make it outside today. Busy trying to get ready to move things out. Too much clutter. Putting in a smart tv with wi fi. Wife now likes being where the Harman is. All the animals hang very close to us in that room. So hard to sort out and part with life's accumulations. Need to go through the closets and get rid of stuff not used in several years.

We lived between 2 homes for almost a year, (1/2 time in each), then another year with many possessions so tightly packed in a garage bay they could not be accessed. I am quite excited to donate/pass on most of it when we get back into remodeled house and can begin to start unraveling those items. #1 Its a smaller home with less storage, #2 I'm pleased to bless someone else that will get better use of the items. Love your thinking. At this time in my life I am more interested in open spaces and simplicity. You and your wife want to make a trip west to help? :)

Spent yesterday working on electric, installing a couple of windows, and priming the walls in our new addition. Former attached one car garage. My son and brother in law tiled the new shower and the room is really taking shape. Struggling to get everything done before the oldest son gets married in Oct. and relatives show up for the festivities.
Today will be more of the same, no chance to ride the bike. Going to take next weekend off to attend the Adirondack nationals in Lake George, our vacation this year, so next few days will be long ones.

Just finished up with the party for my oldest's 5th birthday. At one point, there were 7 kids under the age of 5 in the house. Absolute, joyful chaos. Haven't had that much fun in a long time, although I'm exhausted now.

We have the big projection tv out. I was surprised that it was just 9 years old. Set is huge. Put in a 48 in. set. Thin and light. Internet connected. Not as wide a screen as the projection set, but very adequate. Also have a side table and the oversized ottoman out. Have a bookcase left to take out then it should be more livable in here.

Similar here. Plumber friend and family came up for the weekend to work on my remodel and bbq etc. They had 4 littles ones + mine. WOW, so much fun but we are exhausted too! I am not sure I have ever heard so much unbridled joy and laughter before :)

(agreed) I can always pull more clothes on when its cold, but what do you do when its hot out? Im too cheap to run A/C (read that CHEAP, not THRIFTY), and I like it really cold......when it gets real cold, theres little moisture in the air, ergo, no snow.....I don't have to plow and shovel cold......

I've placed my order for the Selkirk DTM venting today. Prepping the outside wall for the dryer exhaust relocation and enjoying the warm sunny day at the same time before they disappear for winter vacation.
