Not really, I had bought a frame from Oklahoma this fall, a no salt state, and will do a frame off restoration of this truck. Otherwise I would have redone the coolant this fall, but the coolant tested OK for protection, to -30, so I thought I would wait until this spring when the work begins. oh well

That would be my choice, but he works the earth for a living. I'm betting he'll run it until it blows up or just falls apart. I'm giving up on my truck. Too hard to get into. too high.

To me a truck is a tool, just like the tractor or hay baler, it's not the grand showpiece like these 46k-80k have become. I wouldn't even consider using one of those the way I use this one. Besides I have better uses for the cash it takes to make payments, insurance and repairs on such vehicles. They have continued to make them so you, the owner can't work on your own truck. My best Liam Neeson impersonation:

    I have a particular set of skills......

I normally get up between 3 and 3:30 (depending upon how many times I slap the alarm silly). In to work before 5 the last couple of weeks.

Made it in safely - coworkers say the roads aren't bad as they seem to be warm enough to melt what is falling.

While I was getting parts for my coolant issue I decided to replace my less than a year old wiper blades. They had flopped over and were bent, therefore not making proper contact with the windshield. There is a huge discussion up here about the use of Chinese synthetic rubber and it's rapid disintegration. We use inner tubes with the tractors and wagons. Inner tubes are capable of lasting a year or a few weeks, that is if they don't let loose imediately. Anyone else having this issue?

By the way I just got four blades at about $21 delivered, so I'm returning the $18 per blade order to the "local" Advanced Auto store.

no trouble at all with tubes in any of our tractors or equipment, most of them come from Tucker Tire in TN. The rest from the local truck tire repair guy who can do any tire for us.

snowing good here now. about 4" on the ground...

Yeah, when I spoke with her this morning, she said that the shyster Hanover Insurance adjuster told her that the upgrade was approved and that was only after they were threatened with being reported to the insurance commission by her ins company. It wasnt until she got to Enterprise that she was told it was approved only for 38.00/day. 4 wheel drive is 48.00/day.

At that point she didnt have the time to deal with it. Really crappy part is that they were informed that she is an RN and has to get to work-that's why she drives the full size truck. Regarding undercutting the repair, she went to Ben's Auto Body in Portsmouth and they are known for doing the job right and they will fight the insurance company for you. I believe that they have no affiliates so they dont care who they pizz off at the ins companies.

Sub, WW has a suboptimal burn due to their altitude and sub sized air intake (Stove maker has since up sized the air intake on that model).

Dodged another sn*w bullet today. Places south & east of me got up to 6"..........here, I again got 0".

Weekend has started for me....Sunday off to a SB party and will consume mass quantities of smoothies, chili dogs, wings, sausage & peppers, chips, dips, etc, etc. Poker will go on all day.

Go Broncos (and I'm an NFC guy).....Panthers just too cocky, esp. the QB.

we're getting some. i'm just hoping not too much.
since it's staying below freezing now, i will definitely be ignoring it if it stays under 3 inches.

**possibility of up to 20 mph wind sunday.
yeah, definitely going to let the wind have a crack at clearing my drive for me.

At 5-6" here in Bedford and still coming down pretty heavy. Why, oh why didn't I top off the pellet stoves and give Birdie some millet? Then I could just hole up here at work, or at a local hotel and not have to get onto the road until they've had a chance to clean up some.

Just because I get there early doesn't mean I get out early - most days are 11-12 hours long, getting out anywhere from 4 to 6 pm.
