He had second thoughts, it was a trade on trade. I don't blame him at all, mine was older and I think it was the factor that done the deal in. Told him I'm still interested if he gonna try to move it again. I had the princess on my side but if money was involved it might of not happen.

Thanks!! I am still so surprised. It was so innocent, kinda like your foot rolling to the side off a dirt clod, or small rock, or whatever. Bizarre.

Busy day today, cleaned both stoves, went to test drive a car (I've been looking for a month or so for something with good mpg's for driving to work), went home, thought about it, texted back and forth doing some wheeling and dealing, got the price I wanted, and she deliverd right to my driveway. Introducing my new (to me) 2007 Ford Focus ZX4, with almost 200k miles and a 5-speed.

Will be good to drive a standard again (I'm always trying to shift the Explorer - don't try for the clutch, just the shifter). Funny, this is only the 2nd Ford I've owned (1st was the Explorer). Have to wait until I get tags, then it passes inspection, and I'll be using only 2 gallons of gas, instead of 8 gallons for my commute to work. Fits nicely in the garage, even with the pellet there and the Explorer doesn't fit, so no extra room needed .

I'm keeping the Explorer for nasty weather driving, hauling and pulling (if I ever get a trailer). Plus, another biggie for me is having a spare vehicle if one of them has to go to the shop. The forums say the 2007's had strong tranny/engine, and lets face it, obviously it was better built than the defunct 2010 Jeep Patriot  - and I paid a bit less than what I got for the Jeep, so I'm ahead at this point (barring major difficulties passing inspection, which I don't believe will happen - KOW). Car Fax says it has been regularly maintained and never failed inspection, so hoping for good stuff from this one for a couple of years.

Yes, I've been celebrating with, what else, VODKA

Congrats on the wheels! Instead of an air guitar, I had an imaginary air clutch when I moved to an automatic a few years ago:rofl:  Hope you can use it til you find time to get your explorer inspected.

Funnily enough, I just reach for a shifter when in the Explorer - haven't reached for a clutch yet. When I took the Focus for a test drive, the owner had to remind me to use the clutch when I was slowing at a stop light :emb:. Had my hand on the shifter though, ready to do its thing :picard:

After driving it a bit, you will both push the clutch and shift without even thinking, no worries. You will get used to the sound of the engine rpms and speed :)

PS, all of my manual transmission vehicles did not need as frequent brake pads as automatics, one perk right there!

I've driven clutch since 1987, only driven auto the last 2 months. Surprised I haven't tried to clutch the Explorer (I've done so with my mothers car while backing up - I slammed the brake instead and she thought we had hit something  ).

I think about that every time I have to brake while going downhill in the Explorer - this is going to get expensive on brakes in these here neck of the woods!

Oh what fun I will have trading between driving my two vehicles! I'll be constantly asking myself if I have a clutch :D

We are not wine drinkers lol. They give me a headache and WWW only opens them when he has a cold. He will use the bottle for cooking a few times, then it sits around for several months or more collecting dust, and I toss it:emb:

Had that happen to me some time ago. I was in a cast for a while. I turned my foot sideways while stepping into my car. I thought I was on just a dusting of snow. It was snow over ice. :pain:
you take care and get well soon. Hope the pain isn't too much.

Thanks Larry! Mostly only painful while trying to walk, and I am fortunate that I can sit alot. Doc said Ortho might do a bigger boot, surgery, or he thinks maybe a cast because of the way its broke. No idea but I will update next week after seeing the specialist:) PS, I am already on prednisone for sclero, so I think that might be helping prevent some of the pain.
