thursday night i hit the button for the garage door opener....it went up half way and stopped. WTF??? Oh well, it's a Stanley from 1999. they don't make them any more. Replaced my wife's side a couple years ago with a Chamberlain. stopped at the BBS and got a replacement, complete with remote keypad, etc. Chamberlain. Chit! my door is 8 foot, this one isn't marked 7 or 8 foot. Had to buy an adapter for the one on Kathryn's side to make it go 8 feet. well, it looks like the original Stanley worked if i use the door head bracket from the Stanley which added 6 inches, and cheat on the stops some.........viola!! it worked!!!!
OK, now the push button does not work, and the keypad does not work. replace keypad - test OK. use push button from new unit - test OK. try to program controllers from 2013, and 2011 for the cars - nada......

Read the manual - the new door openers that are app enabled (if you buy something extra) do NOT work with any controller Chamberlain made in the past!! not backward compatible----really??????????????????Planned obsolescence!!:loco: :loco:

So now i have three remotes in my truck to control the doors - progress? i think not!

cleaned the stove today in prep for a ton of EasyBlaze SYP. burned probably 20 bags of Blackstone and GT's. There wasn't 3 quarts of ash - not bad for hardwoods. We'll see how the SYP burn.

Oh, and the Blazer guy called me yesterday and dropped his price...a lot! things are beginning to shift. crazy season, to be sure:loco: :loco:

    Not much going on.

    Rain, rain and more rain.
Never even got dressed today, just sat around the shack in my night shirt.

    Uggggggh.

Gotta go down and get shells or the shack gonna get cold before morning.

    Absolutely ZERO ambition today.

One of those lazy lazy Saturdays.

At least I cleaned the stove yesterday, so I can be lazy today.

But all new controllers are compatible with openers from 1993 and on..
So the new controller you got 'should' work...
Programming can be tricky, depending on the learn buttons on the opener...

I got up at 5:30, perused the forums, FB and CL, had breakfast and laid down on the couch for a nap. Woke up about 11. Wanted it to be a lazy day, but with the freezing rain/snow/rain mix, I had to get out and shovel off the driveway before it became 2" of ice.

Took way more time than it should have to clean out the basement wall by the washer then assemble new shelving units (HD - good price and free delivery as an internet only item). The new shelving, at 48" x 18" x 72", replaced two units that were 30" x 14" x 70". Amazing how the extra 4" of depth makes so much difference - even though the total length was actually less. Plus, I got castors for them, so easy to move around. Was so happy with the shelves, ordered another set while the free shipping and sale price are good.

The old shelves were here when I bought the house, so they are really old. I believe one set can fit in the garage and the other set can fit in the shed, so they won't go to waste.

Listened to the Pats game while working in the basement. Watched the last 2 minutes, when I was pretty sure they had it - usually when I start watching they start losing, so I didn't want to jinx them.
