F1 is showing signs of possibly not self destructing. hopefully next season will have more contenders and good battles.

I had first thought it was an omen to see Aaron Rodgers smiling again. It was as if he was letting the rest of us realize that they have been sandbagging the last few weeks? Then I realized that this was Washington, a team that emerged from a division of teams that did their very best not to have winning seasons.

Next week is the real test.

Nice !! How much of todays games are really able to be played "offline" and single person? I dont play anywhere near enough to even think about dealing with the some of the online stuff. Never mind having to learn all the damm button and sequences to play.

I had gotten up and had prognosticated to the wife, well this game is over. I then had to sit back down and was as dumbfounded as I was on the last play in the 2015 Superbowl..... "it ain't over till it's over!"

Cincinnati and Minnesota should both have won, they just couldn't see out the closing minutes of the game. None of the home teams won, a first time record of sorts.

Apparently Cincinnati did not want to win. Talk about 2 players that should be thrown off the team.........The fans should have been throwing bottles at them not Roethlisberger who was being carted off the field when that happened- WTH? Bad blood between teams is what makes sports more interesting at times, but those last 2 penalties were downright ridiculous.

I agree with everything but throwing bottles.;) Fans can throw fits, boo or choose not to buy tickets again, but throwing things at players has to be over the line. I realize you may mean only the emotional feeling and not the physical act, but some folks just don't realize it's just wrong. I had a team at a tournament and the parents from another team were throwing fruit and partially filled soda bottles at the team members. BTW the team was comprised of 10 year olds. Adults throwing stuff at children, don't ask me what I think of that. :zip:

That sends a real message to kids, and it's not a good one either.

It's no wonder that so many kids grow up with such S**TY attitudes and wind up in trouble with the law.

I also don't agree with this crap that many are promoting with children "Everyone wins" no losers in the game.

The kids need to learn from an early age that there are times that you get your AZZ handed to ya, and only hard work and a stiff upper lip can make it better.

Throwing things at a game (physical) is pure BS as well as the coaches ranting and tossing a pizzy fit.

All this teaches kids is that bad behavior is OK.

    RANT OFF

i have gravitated to open world action rpgs.
so really they are first person shooters (and/or bows/swords/spells), but you also get to build your character and get involved in some storylines.
oh yeah, crafting/smithing/enchanting is amazingly fulfilling. you make your weapons/armor/guns/gear, and those are things you get attached to.
when you are building a character and have lots of locations with loot and enemies, you can set your own goals rather than doing just what the games tells you you need to do.
i have been playing skyrim the second time through and am level 80 and have done exactly one mission of the main story line.
there is lots of wild game in skyrim, and i have spent hours just wandering around the world bowhunting.
far cry 3 was fun. FC4 is out and pretty cheap now for xbone.
fallout 3 and the new fallout 4 also huge worlds and single player.
stepping out of the vault into the ruined world in fallout 3 will probably always be the greatest moment in gaming for me.
many people feel the same way.
when you first look out on the devastated landscape, you wonder "oh, s***, what have i gotten myself into.

FO4 is something i've been waiting for for years.
people say dragon age is one of the best games ever, but it's third person, and i just can't get past that.
it has to be first person for me. dragon age supposedly has great story and voice acting, but it just looks hokey to me.
i like building my character, but the action has to be good, and first person.
i played borderlands 2 for almost two years. hella fun game. i still haven't "finished" it.

i plan on getting a moto gp game. but racing games are much more tense. i can't really pause them and come back and be in the groove.
but i definitely want a good motogp game.

after playing open world games, playing a 'corridor" game like most first person shooters are, is just maddening.
i want to be able to use the environment to stalk my targets. and you can get really creative when you can go basically anywhere you can see.

We went out to lunch with my brother and his wife in the weather yesterday for our annual get together. We followed up that with a junk store visit to Marden's. Picked up a couple of CD collections of oldies which I have rendered into oggs awaiting being able to update the Netgear Modem/Router collection which will be depending upon Netgear doing some work here is the support ticket:

DLNA server doesn't work once the number of files passes a certain number, suspect the number is due to memory constraints and the fact that there is no .ReadyDLNA folder with its sqlite database on the medium occupying the USB port. This feature worked correctly on my 4500.

    Hardware Version C279T00-01
    Firmware Version V1.01.11
    Cable Modem Serial Number 3KX25974A65EB
    CM Certificate Installed
    CM MAC dc:ef:09:78:a3:30
    LAN Port
    MAC Address dc:ef:09:78:a3:32
    IP Address/Mask 192.168.0.1/24
    DHCP On

DLNA somewhat works when the number of files is kept relatively low. When I activated the modem with TWC and plugged my prior working 1TB Seagate drive into the port imagine my surprise when the server froze after getting part way through it's scan.

As for my operating system, well I have a rather decent collection not that it makes any difference in this instance. I believe that you are running a version of Linux in the C3700 since you sent a copy of the GPL with the device.

We watched Particle Fever about the hadron collider the EU is running. We looked at each other when the theoretical physicists were writing their equations on the chalk boards. Impressive stuff, I had enough trouble with calculus back in school, and these guys are writing math equations faster than I could write my name.

DLNA allows me to serve multimedia content to most smart tvs, tablets, cell phones, and other computer systems. For example I can listen to my cd collection and watch my dvd collection on the tv streamed from my modem/router. The same goes for my photo collection. In fact I had every digital media file sitting on my 1TB usb drive fully operational on the 4500 router. I even downloaded and installed a player client on both of the Kindle Fire devices. Was running a torture test on the new c3700 after connecting it to the internet. Not nice and not the first time a DNLA server set-up has been borked. Don't want to have to root the C3700 and get TWC on my azz for over riding what they configured the hardware's firmware with.

I was watching that on my Kindle a couple of days ago, mathematics is not something that comes easily for most folks, let alone when there can be several different notation systems used.

Yeah, I meant figuratively in the sense that their emotions were directed at the wrong direction. Their own players needlessly blew the game and the entire season.

Regarding kids, I coached a basketball team for 2 years with a group of 5th/6th grade kids that were unstoppable-it had nothing to do with my coaching, they just knew the game and had a great coach previously. 2 years we were undefeated, but we kept the score within 5-6 points for the final. Once we got to a certain lead, the full press was off and they throttled back. We won, but did not embarrass.

I has more opposing coaches thank me for that after the game.

This happens often when teams sign players with known histories of misbehavior. Front office hopes the player(s) antics are outweighed by performance. They often are not.

Pacman has been relatively "pain" free for two years. The other fella not so much.

I am amazed that this foolishness was not the final nail in Marvin's Bengal coaching career. The play in those final moments and another year of futility would seem to have pointed that way. If I was a Cinncy fan I would be pi$$ed
