I do not mind paying max taxes now days ---- It means my income is good.

I am of an age that I remember paying near max tax rate and did mind paying it. Google early 70's tax bracket rates and compare to today rates, you will see what I mean.

I am not liberal nor democrat nor for that matter republican (all mammals feeding at the same trough IMO). However I accept that taxes need paying for even basic services.

FTR I support a Flat tax on all income above 40 grand. No deductions, no breaks, no credits.

    Political Break over.

Supposed to hit single digits Monday night so will be breaking out the LaCretes. Just finished a top to bottom cleaning to get ready for a few days normal winter. Noticed a weak spot in my door gasket so that will be on the list for Thursdays biweekly cleaning. I had hoped it would last forever :headbang:

I cleaned the Accentra today. No sign of creosote so the door gasket leak was the culprit. Now it's on standby duty. I've let the Fahrenheit run out of pellets so I could vacuum the fines in the bottom of hopper. Will be cold tonight -24C so I bumped the heat up and getting ready for it. Also plugged the car in for wife back to work in the morning :D

    Well
The Austroflamm insert arrived a bit ago.

    Looks great.

Will need to clean it up some, but it should be easy to find it a home.

Here are some pix of the little beast

    Clean with some normal wear.
Does not look like it was used a lot.

The mechanical cabinet is very clean on it and the fire pot and innards look great

This will definitely need a good home.

I would LOVE to go back to a manual clothes washer!! I loved the option of propping the lid open (wooden spoon in the catch), and being able to run an extra, wash/rinse/spin, whatever that particular load needed. On the other hand I do appreciate the water savings with the frontloader, but still miss the manual non computerized model!

 :rofl:  The water pressure was so low at my previous house I actually could listen to the cycle of the dial start dishwasher that we installed and had pitchers of water ready to add  :rofl:  AND, the capacity of my new fancy dishwasher is less. I loved being able to put pots/pans that are too heavy for my to handwash in the old one. On the other hand, the old washer did not clean as well after they changed the detergents. (sorry chris to bring it up again).

Oh sorry, didn't mean I pay the max percentage; I don't have that good an income - I could only dream, heck I don't make what my mom did in 1983 as an engineer!, but as a single person, who has no deductions at all (okay, not true, my medical insurance payments are pre-tax), I pay the absolute maximum that is possible on my annual income.

My current front loader has the options for extra wash, spin/rinse and other stuff but it can not be added or changed once the cycle has started-PITA some times when I think of adding an extra rinse to a bleach wash or dog blanket wash

We had gotten a new washer and dryer set...eleven years ago when we moved. The old set sold with the old house deal, I had repaired the heck out of both of them and was glad to move on. The new front loader by LG had an issue right off: Operator error combined with high water pressure. The wifey and I did't realize that the new top loader wanted HE soap and it sure didn't want 55# water pressure. LG was generous in allowing under warranty, all the parts and the service call. I had explained our responsibility in the matter to them, they still allowed the repair. We only had one choice for a repair shop up here, I was far from impressed. Shortly after they left we still had noise that wasn't there before...? I took it back apart and there were missing screws and others not tightened.:picard: Since then, I've replaced the board and a few gaskets affected by our hard water over the years but it still runs fine. The only persistent issue is the rust starting to show through around the edges nears the inlet tray, the WP must still be too high even with the valve I added. We have to use the additional programming occasionally here also, we just need to put it in play before we start the cycle also.

Had the day off today so I gave the stove a good cleaning, did everything but pull the blowers, I'll leave that to the professionals. It's amazing how much better a clean stove seems to run.
