Carefull what you ask for. That's what we had last January-March and it piled up the snow with no melting whatsoever. The roofs had no relief.

i guess i'm just selfish. it's much easier for me to rake off my single story house's metal roof than to deal with an iced drive. (over and over again... )

hopefully we all make it through in a good way.

I'm with ya on the iced drive ans slushy/icy rain. But some upper 30's and maybe some low 40's and sunshine in January and Feb are very much welcomed in my book

Mine is self cleaning (standing seam roof). One of the best things I did was put that on. First winter here was miserable trying to roof rake all 4 sides (120' of roof line) of an almost flat roof. Last year was awesome as I watched even the steep roofs build up with snow and mine just took care of itself.

I know from experience that I don't even have to pour it out of the bag - not a pleasant surprise to find wet bags :startled:. You'd think that 2 cats could share 3 litter boxes, but they don't play well with others, or even each other, so at least one of them decided to take his business to a quieter corner. I immediately put up a barrier so they can't get to the stash. Fortunately I already had a couple of kid gates from when I had dogs (to keep them out of the litter boxes :picard:), so was an easy and free fix.

I keep an eye on the water content which was low here last winter so I only did around the edge over the long second story deck and cleaned off the second story deck once. The one that my son and I made ain't about to go anywhere due to snow and ice load as I think the load calculations I did my system seemed to be stuck on a full boiler triplex steam engine. The deck hasn't budged at all.

This year I won't even concern myself with the boiler venting as I'm currently on the boiler for heat instead of just DHW. Last season during the lizard I had to trundle up over the rise to the upper driveway and clear around it.
