The little one was over and exercised KC this morning . Then the boss and I went out for a late lunch and a winter supply run for KC in the litter department. We won't need to make any runs in bad weather for that purpose, then I had a nap and the boss played clean up in the garden. When we got home the car went into the garage. Still have to clean off the workbench.

We call ours the cat yard. It is a fenced area (at least in our case) that is about 140 sq feet with a loose nylon mesh fence about 6 feet tall. The cats can climb it but because it sags they can not get over it. The bottom is lined with cobble. AND

Of course Linda being the fur baby lover she is the perimeter is interspersed with patches of catnip, zinnias, lettuce and onions. The flowers and veggies attract grasshoppers which they seem to think delectable, (also good for my bait box).

Our critters are family. Two dogs, the Scooter reached age 22 a few days ago, Buster is 9 months Saturday. The cats, Bambam, better known as Gramma Grump is 9 and Sparkles is a year old.

Bam gets two slices of bacon every morning for breakfast, Scooter gets a small bit of chocolate twice a day, Buster is a summer sausage addict and Sparkles wants nothing but Temptations for a treat.

There dinner is whatever we eat, cut to size and served on dinner plates or bowls.

They are well past spoiled but they are healthy, happy, and great companions for a couple of oldsters whose youngsters are spread around the country.

Scooter even used to fish when he was younger. Held a hand line in his teeth, recognized a bite and ran like he!! up the bank with fish in tow. He landed more than some people I know.

Wow, I'm impressed. Chocolate is toxic to dogs. Yours must be like the 100 yr. old man who says he smokes a pack of camels every day. No telling why 22, or why he isn't ill from it. I had one dog who would become ill after one bite of chocolate after stealing it from one of the kids.
Congratulations to your long lived pet family!

Theobromine is the poison in chocolate. Scooter is apparently immune to it. He had his first chunk at about 8 months when he raided a candy dish that was left on a table. He then begged every time one of the kids had a piece and it was months before we were aware they were giving him the stuff.

So for about 21 years he has been given a small piece every morning before our walk and every night during his evening stroll. It seems to have no ill effect as his only health issues at 22 are blindness, selective hearing, and a general weakening of his hips.

Toxicity is related to dosage and that in turn is somewhat controlled by most chocolate not being as potent in the amount of the toxin as it could be.

That's easy WW, where everyone here is cool and just having a good time. (Anyways, I'll always blame will.) :D

See what I mean? :thumbs:

Today was a good day, when under the house into the crawlspace and inspected all the elecrical, piping, and mechanicals - everything looked good! Put a new filter in the 'Dino burner, will be nice & frosty for the next change in January '16.

Looked at all the leaves, said 'forget it', continued on cleaning up the woodshed of all the auto and home improvement project remains from the summer, big pile going to the dump this weekend. More pellet space!

Found all cables for the generator / house hookup, good to go for the Gen test! Looks like it will happen this weekend.
Fingers (and hopefully not wires) crossed!

Same as a dog pen, but I no longer have dogs. this one is attached to my house, so I have a 50' x 20' pen outside my back door. It is 6' tall Chain link panels (yay CL for getting it cheap!). Can let the cats out to enjoy the weather and don't have to worry about them getting in the street, fighting other area cats, dogs, skunks, foxes etc.
