I was home when our 13 y/o carpets removed. Back then I was fanatical about vacuuming and had a great steam cleaner, my carpets almost looked new!! I was shocked from the silt that was underneath despite my spotless carpets.....

Agree and understand.House carpets are not normally sealed underneath(like cars and trucks).Which is why since the early 70's products have come out to remove pet odors from carpets, say they go all the way down?House carpet is one of the biggest ripoffs, along with lineolem, which was the poor mans flooring untill the 90's.I have carpet in my cabin,1/2 downstairs and all the upstairs, but dread when I have to replace it.But,living in a cold climate,it is nice.

    x2!

I'd like to have some again, yes, it's great! But now me and the vacuum and carpet cleaner, well......

Though I can still wield a broom :)

Well yesterday while the boss was cooking tomatoes down to make sauce I may have gotten my multimedia software all updated, can now play *.iso images, the DLNA client in version VLC 3.0 beta no longer takes forever to do its directory work, I took a chance and installed even more multimedia software, along with converting 20 DVDs to a stream-able format that our TV can handle. That means I am working on getting the DVD collection served by the router just like the CD collection. Nothing on the schedule for today, maybe we should do the first of our stock up expeditions. Don't want to go out during a raging snow storm to get things like laundry detergent, coffee, flour, sugar, and other staples because of PPP (p*ss, poor, planing).

And looking at the flue pipe 6 or 8 inch , I think it's a fancy coal or wood burner from Europe.

Took the dogs for a long walk both days this weekend. Fall is upon us, and this is my favorite time of the year.

    Smells
o Farmer's field, just mowed. Nothing like that sweet smell of freshly cut hay.
o The "warm" smell of a thick bed of orange pine needles on the ground, as the sun starts to beat down on them and heat them up.
o Every once in a while, the smell of wild grapes in the breeze.

Sights - Well, see for yourself.

I like your acorns, they're real big.

Hickory trees dropping their nuts on the road.
