Yes back to work for me after a week up at Lake Winny in NH and many tuckermans and Bombay Saphirres! Just bought 300 gallons of oil at 1.95. Picked up my ton of Vermonts.( Actually wife and kid made several runs and unloaded it for me!!) As I have about 500 gallons of oil I suppose I will be burning a lot less this year.

Tough day. All this moving too much stuff. Sorting it all out. Drawers full of years of collevtions of stuff I should have parted with long ago. I don't have an idea how long this moving will take, only that I sure will be glad when it it all said and done. At this rate we won't have to worry about leaving a mess of sorting after we pass on.

How did you make out with the plumbing situation? Our dishwasher didn't make here today and I did another batch of sour pickles the hard way.

savemoney Larry, when I moved last year, I filled a 20 yd. dumpster with crap. The way I decided on what to toss was: if I hadn't looked at or used something in the past year, it was gone.....and I didn't waver on it.
And I haven't thought about or missed any of it.

So you put the pickles into the dishwasher as part of the process? Cool....never heard of that method before. :loco:

No the dishwasher had a sanitize setting that made it a lot easier on the paws then the old fashioned way.

When we moved the last go round I filled a dump truck, have missed any of it in fact I'm currently go through stuff to gather up my model railroad materials and finding a pile of more stuff to give the heave ho to. Larry I know what you are going through as we downsized a few collections of stuff over the years, some of it relatives stuff.

It isn't fun cleaning and sanitizing regular mouthed jars when doing large batches of things, the dishwasher made short work of that and I didn't burn the paws.

Well I have a pile of different sized curved n-scale track to sort through, I hope to not have to purchase a lot when I set things up. It has been almost 8 years since I dismantled my layout and now that my sidekick and ankle biter is no longer around to jump up onto the layout and do things like barf on it and wreck any structures I can safely build a new layout. I've got a pile of stuff to round up and need to decide what I want to do. Man have the prices gone up on the trackage and such.

I have only half my house now, but I am gaining, the grandchildren and hopefully the security to live our remain days here without having to go to a senior housing place. Our new space is nice, just having issues with some oversized furniture and and thinning out. I'm glad I have an oversized two story garage. The kids are saying they are going to thin that area too. The only thing I am sure of is my son won't part with my tools. I've got cases of things like router bits that have never been used. Multiple power saws etc. Most all of it like the day I bought them. Nothing really special. Most of it is Craftman's and the brands at the HD and lowes.
He seems to think he will install my furnace and heat that area so we can use it during the winters.
He will keep the snow plowed and the grass cut, plus his wife wants to keep my gardens going. All in all I'm lucky. Just very hard letting go.

You're very lucky to have a son & DIL that can help out with things. And yes, it IS tough to let go sometimes. You'll get there, my friend.
