It really is a good beginner hike with enough to keep your heart rate up. There are 2 paths-one is shorter and steeper, the other longer and less steep.

I took the longer path today both ways, but generally we take the short one up and the longer one down. With a 3PM start, we were back down by 5:45. The late start bypassed the crowds as this can be a popular spot earlier in the day.

There are so many great trails around here. I dont do the higher ones as I really dont have the nerve for the sheer rock parts of the climbs with a 6 inch ledge that you need to traverse, even if its for a short distance.

Funny, I have a love of heights with a fear of falling. Kind of keeps me alive I guess. Probably goes back to being dropped as a kid or something.

One more pic from the very top of the mountain. I would have taken more pics to the right towards Alton Bay, but too many people in the shots there so I didnt bother. If I was with Teresa and Nellie was not attached to me, I would have been able to get better pics at the edge.

We still enjoy it. But with bass fishing taking most of the time, We don't get to as much as we'd like too. :emb:

Canned two batches of green beans this evening and fixed the TP dispensing system in the 3/4 bath.

Well, finally got both coats of the Olympic deck Stain & sealant on. Let it dry overnight, and start putting the white lattice on tomorrow (if it's not too burning hot out). The color is Ebony gray. Wasn't at all cheap, but if it lasts, it'll be worth it.
    Thanks for the recommendation savemoney

Now I am impressed with that. You got to it a lot quicker than I thought you were intending to. Looks 100% better. I like it. Lets see how you do with it over the winter. I'm ok with paint wearing off, Just don't like it peeling and flaking off. I put indoor outdoor carpet on the steps and platform and stapled it down. It's either my third of 4th year on the same carpet. I was surprised how easy it was to shovel snow off carpeting.
