Mush pit here. But cleaned up the best I could. Will need to sand I suppose. Rain, But cold enough to freeze to the trees. Hope the wind holds off until we get a bit warmer, But not likely to happen.

got 4.5" of snow by 6am, then started sleeting (way earlier than my particular area expected. Sleet and freezing rain all day. Went out about 2pm because there was a lull. Shoveled from the back porch steps to outside the closest gate. Went and cleaned out the other gate. Was going to snow blow, but then it started sleeting hard again. Was still sleeting when I went to bed. This morning I have another 3" or so of snow and the winds are already gusting pretty good.

I already had today off from work (PTO) as I was expecting to do snow moving today. But, with the winds supposed to be continuously howling, that may not happen. It's supposed to stay cold for the rest of the week, so may just leave it there and clean up one night when the wind isn't so bad. The single digits and negative temps at night will help leach the moisture out of the snow.

I did have someone plow a couple of swipes at the berm at the end of the driveway yesterday. Glad I set that up on Friday when I first saw this would be a mess so I wasn't scrambling to find someone.

I had two unopened tons of mothras in the garage. Opened one up today.

Between the heatpump and going over to the dark side with a wood insert the pellets last a lot longer.

Drive and walkway are skating rinks!! I guess leaving it might have been the better route. O'well tossed some sand and back into the warmth. Either way I still would have to go out and deal with whatever. Putting down some sand was easier than spending an hour or so out in this wind!

Brodie had fun slipping on top of the ice crust. A gust of wind actually slid him a foot or so. The look on his face! Didn't take the usual latte'da potty break after that. Done did his business pretty darn quick like!

I was glad I waited to take care of the accumulation. Got another 3 or so inches, and the wind blew it all into the existing paths that I had cleared during previous storms. So I would have been snow blowing again even if I had done clean up on Sunday.

Just was looking at a 10 day forecast for NH. Shows Sat thru Thurs temps upper 30's to low 40's. Spot of rain on Tues. I ( and my back) am gonna like not having to do any storm cleanups for a while.

    Getting interesting.
The daughter and son in law have decided to take us up on the offer to take over this place when the youngest grand kid is out of high school (3 years away)

So we wuill move downstairs to the apartment and set up housekeeping.

I am not real keen on having to buy pellets for the big Quad that is there now.

I am picking up another Whitfield Advantage 2 T tomorrow.......It has a dead control board.....So another custom controller is in the offing.

I dragged out the schematics and my notes and started constructing a "Spec Sheet" so I can gather the needed parts to assemble the new control.

Some of the electrical parts I have plenty of spares.
I need to get the aluminum box first off.

Having an identical stove to the one here in the family room just makes great sense.....Same spare parts work....

The plan is to get the new addition home and given a big bad deep clean and service....New fans, new auger motor.....New fire brick panels.....
Just start it on it's new life in top shape........

Physically the stove looks nice....Cabinet is in beautiful shape.
All the trim is there and in good shape. Glass is in good shape.
    Gold trivet is nice.

Wood door handle and draft rod handles are original.....
    Lower ash pan/grille/valance is nice.

So this will be a nice stove once it's back from the valley of the shadow of death.
Original control board is dead.....Seller did not want to fool with getting the board repaired.....

    Fun stuff....

Eh, I do both wood and pellet, on cold windy nights we do both stoves together, on super duper frigid nights we do all 3 (2 wood and one pellet). All good in my book regardless of how we keep warm :)
