Not much sun the last few days. Its good I had some extra batteries charged. Out putzin in the garage and the solar station started beeping low battery. Fandangled 4 12v to make a 48 volt bank and plugged it in. Should be good for another 2-3 days.

For that price I would think those would have to be for pellet grills, not pellet stoves. Prices are starting out lower this year than they were last year. I will grant it isn't by much, but still . . .

My rooftop solar has been horrible the last 3 days with the heavy overcast and intermittent "rain" (drizzle mostly). This time of year they should still produce around 20-25kwh per day, with decent sun. Yesterday I got 7kwh. Today is supposed to be more of the same except we are actually supposed to get actual rain, which we desperately need.

We got our pellets in 20 lb. bags this year. $400 per ton. It was that or stop burning altogether. The wife and I can't handle the 40 lb bags. Grandson was going to help last year with the lifting but we had to ask him every time, and then wait for him to get moving.

I just had Trinity solar( part of sunnova). Kind of a lease deal, But they keep the equipment. Basically you buy the power they produce instead of paying eversource. Interesting idea, But they couldn't guarantee they could produce 100% of our needs so we'd still have a eversource bill.

I was skeptical and told them see ya! I did waste a mess of their time as the fella that was peddling the deal came and bugged me on a Sunday. He wasted 2+ hours of my time, So I busted the sales guys for a few and sent him on a fact finding check. I'm sure that he wasted a bunch of time just to hear me say nah, Keep you blah blah!

When the per watt price drops a bit more,it is close but still no cigar.

Well, still staying dry (inside), and power still on right now (11:30 pm), but the worst wind is yet to come for us, and we had a TON of rain today, so soil is soft. Genny is at the ready....checked the oil, topped the gas, so we'll see. If the power goes out over night, I'm not going to sweat it until morning. Still 70ยบ out right now, so wouldn't be any need for A/C.

Leasing is not in your best interest from what I hear. You just trade one payment for another (and may still be paying the utility), and I'm not sure you can apply the Fed tax credit since you don't own the system (I could be wrong). Almost everytime I read someone saying solar systems are a big rip off or they were duped/taken advantage of, it is a leasing situation.

Glad I could just use the funds I was saving for a garage to buy my system outright. Then my tax credit paid for my new shed (well, close enough). Overall, I am much happier with what I have and it is much more useful than a garage (in my case), and, I pay less in property taxes than I would if I had put up a garage.
