I have yet to fire up the pellet stove for this season. I've been in the hospital a lot during the past couple of months. So far, and walk around and carry anything. I could get my son to help, but I have resisted that. Heating with the mini split and the propagne. My breathing is very bad so I have to avoid any air pollution.

It great that you have multiple heating options.

Hope you get to feeling better soon Larry!

Ya, I am the older one. But then I hear of someone who is in their eighties out cutting firewood. Me, I struggle just to get out of bed. This home is looking more like a nursing home with all the assistive devices. Big thing with me is not to fall. I get the dizzies sometimes and over I go. I've got a rollator with a seat on it. That helps. Outside I use an electric wheelchair or my scooter.

I would encourage anyone to get a mini split. They are so efficient. I got mine when the gov. was giving away money. Used that and with a state rebate, I only had $100 of out op pocket cost. Best AC I have ever had, and very good at heating. I only have one unit but it does the trick. Only maintenance is to clean the filter.

I am amazed he is still able to feed the deer. Cost of grain is very high. I am also surprised we don't hear of predators hanging out at that feeding station.

No stove hear this year after the shoulder surgery and other health issues.

Did an oil prebuy to get me thru this season (first one since 2009) but I may just clean and fire the P68 up this week as some cold air is moving in.

I have 12 bags in the basement and a ton in the garage leftover from last year. Just about ready to be able to carry 40lb bags from the garage to the basement (and wont push that envelope until ready) but can easily handle the basement bags.

Well, needed something to do for a few hours before football starts so cleaned the stove and fired her up.

The P68 fired with no issues January 29, 2023 first fire of the season !! :fire:

Was tired of the cold basement and cold floors, nevermind the house being colder than just baseboard heat. Going to see if Henry McManus has the 32lb LG that I can buy 10-15 bags at a time even if its just for the cold snaps or if all goes well full time burning.

We were so used to the stove warming the whole house, The oil just felt cold. We might be using a bit more BTU's but having warm floors and basement is priceless! :D

Thinking of buying a ton or two of Energex premium hardwood. Only a few dollars more than a ton of GS. As I remember they had a good reputation a few years ago. What do y'all think?

Yeah given that the end of the week is forecast to be 0 or below at night and Sat's high is supposed to be +, gave the stove a thorough cleaning today and added some of the doug firs to the stash by the stove to use later on.

Been dry and cold/cool the past few days with plenty of Sunshine..
18F this morning......A tad nippy out there.......

Rain and a warmup coming by mid week......NO ICE OR SNOW.....Warmup is coming before the moisture gets here.

We need to get shells too.....Plenty in storage....but when we get 10 empty barrels I get WITHDRAWALS...:D

Plant manager says they will be running into early Summer to finish up the 2022 crop (Huge crop) My plan is to end this season with everything full to the brim......
