Get a Sphynx cat if you do not want to deal with all the hair ball issues.
Sphynx are very much into their HOOOOMANS.

Our little girl is my little buddy....follows me all over the house, will play fetch with me and adores the grand kids

Chupi has a tad more hair than most Sphynx cats....The breed should be like a suede hot water bottle.....

They are the coolest little critters I have ever met....More dog like than what you are used to....
    Check out the Sphynx

    Interesting.
My daughter and Son in law have an Aussie and he is best buddies with their 27 pound cat named Olaf...
Son in law and HIS CAT

Daughter decided Oly needed a mustache too and did some work with an eyebrow pencil.

Oly is a huuuuuuge cat....at 27 pounds and from nose to tail at around 3 feet long.

It's probably a good thing that he and the dog are buddies....The dog does not give Oly any crap...

Not Wyatt. He's about as fond of cats as I am, something I have no issue with (though my wife does). He'll growl at them kind of quietly so as not to alert my wife who will scold him and if they persist, he'll roll up his lip and give them the 'grill'...

Cats came with the marriage 35 years ago. Nasty little things.

    Wyatt agrees with my 100%.

You obviously dont understand a cat's traits and personality but they sure as hel l understand yours and treat you as such.

No they are not "trained to be obedient" as a dog, but they are very intuitive, respect when respected and when you are on the same page as they are it's a whole different attitude. And yes, when respected they know who's the alpha and it isnt them.

Like I said, cats only do 4 things. They eat, they puke, they crap and they pee and none of those things excites me in the slightest, Cats came with my 'matrimonial bliss' and we have 8 in the house and around 15 outside that live in the barns. I will say the barn cats keep the 4 legged vermin out of my tractors thought they do tend to walk on the hoods and leave paw prints. My wife takes excellent care of all of them, I'll give her that but I can do without any of them just fine. At one time we had more outside but the not too bright ones turned into lunch for the Coyotes.

I don't hate them. In fact I don't hate anyone except maybe my ex wife because she took me to the cleaners years ago.

I just don't particularly like cats except for one that is. She's at least 18 years old and lived in the big barn for as long as I can remember and this fall I was out in the barn and noticed that she wasn't looking very good. Her name is Jojo and she only has one good eye and she was never a friendly cat (most barn cats aren't) but she let me pick her up, all 3 pounds of here and I saw she had lost all the hair on her right paw so I brought her in the house and we called the vet and had her looked at, She has a respiratory issue and had a bad cold and her nose was running on her paw and she licked all the hair off. We got her meds and I told my wife her days as a barn cat were finished.

Never had to show her where the litter box was or the food bowls. She's never wet on the floor, always uses the litter box and no one but me can even touch her. I'm her person and if I'm sitting in the recliner, she's on my lap and no other cat had better even come near or the claws are out and a right hook comes quickly. I just want her to be comfortable for the remainder of her life. She sleeps most of the time in my favorite chair. Like I said, if I want to sit down, I pick her up and put her on my lap. No one else can touch her so I guess being the anointed one I should be honored and I am. The rest of them I really don't pay much attention to and my wife feeds them and changes the litter. Just a tiny little tiger barn cat that appeared many years ago and lived in the barn. Not any more. House cat now. Has no desire to go outside. Sits at the sliding door and looks out. You open the door, she don't move. I figure someday in the near future, I'll find her in the chair cold and stiff but I feel good that I allowed her to live out the rest of her life in relative comfort. Being a barn cat up here in Michigan has to be tough in the winter especially. Don't hate cats at all. I tolerate them. I much prefer working dogs.

Sucks when our furry family members get old. Both of mine are around 15 and slowing down big time. Dont go outside as much as they use to and dont have the same energy. Sleep way more than before as well.

Never have had litter box issues with any of my cats. Have several scratching posts around the house and they leave the furniture alone after showing them the posts that are open season to use freely.
