Storm nowhere near what we were told around here. By now I should have been in whiteout but still just a light fine snow. Was watching Ch 7 a while ago and they pointed to the 12-18" band (which goes up through our area) and said he didn't think we'd get 18, didn't think the 12" was possible. Looks like maybe 5-6 inches at most on the ground now.

Sam, I'm in Hampton about 1/4 mile from the beach. Maybe 8 inches? Hard to tell. I am underwhelmed. It is cold though.

Boston and south looks like they get the jackpot. Looks like my cleanup tomorrow won't be too bad.

We ended up with a little over a foot I'd say. Hard to tell with all the drifts. Finally home after 15hrs of plowing and no sleep. When I got home the farmer down the road had already plowed my main driveway so i fired up the tractor and did the rest. Then i decided it was a great idea to move the wife's 2wd tahoe out of it's "blizzard parking" and back to where she normally parks. Yeaaaa bad idea. Slid sideways and into a drift and got stuck. Had to go get the tractor and pull it out. I need a beer and some sleep. :loco: :drunk:

it is snowing and blowing here. can't tell at all how much snow we got, but it is still really coming down, or sideways I should say. Riley (dog) went out and right back in. I go outside and stay out with him for safety reasons. P68 running and keeping us warm. is making a howling noise during the cool down phase. I'm burning MWP. Hate to admit it, but I only open the stove door about once a week just to push the ash and make me feel I've done something. When I empty the ash, I turn it off and let it sit overnight, then I clean out the ash. I've never encounter a hot ash that way.

Town grader made its 2 passes about 4:30 so I immediately suited up to go out and snow blow. Wind was whipping up pretty good (not nearly like now where snow is going sideways). I had on my balaclava and cold weather riding pants (from before I had heated gear), cold weather riding gloves, my Carhardt jacket and a baseball cap. Boots, interestingly enough are my almost knee high "fashion" snow boots. They are warm and grip better on ice than any other boots I have - including my mountain climbers.

The 4" of snow was so light that most of the time I had the snow blower in 5th gear. Naturally I slowed down for the berm from the grader, around the mailbox and around the fence gates, but other than that I was pedal to the metal all the way. Even did the drainage areas for when snow starts to melt. The only thing I didn't do was clean off the Explorer. That was probably the fastest round of snow blowing I've ever accomplished at a little under an hour.

We got a blast of snow around 3. Picked up another 6 or 7 inches. So around a foot for us. No big wind which made me happy.

Great thing about being able to use my cold weather riding gear when performing snow clean up, it is very good at blocking out the wind.

Not sure what our snow total is, some parts of the yard are high, some are low. My guess is about a foot. Town plows left a couple foot high wall at the end of the driveway overnight.

No power issues here during the storm, lights never even flickered.

Lori went to bed real late so I'm going to wait until she gets up to start snowblowing. And it'll be a little warmer too.

Final here is between 8-10" or little more. Wind was blowing towards the front of the house so more on the stairs, in front of garage doors etc. May need to knock a little in front of the 2 dormered windows on 2nd floor. Will have see how bad the hand is doing at that point

Time to suit up and clean it up.

9° here and it sure is pretty outside. Think I'll wait till it's at least 10° before I go finish plowing where I left off yesterday. Gonna have to clean off a spot in the front field for the dogs to do their business. Poor girls look like they're having hard time
