Morning J :), I'm not aware of any settings to change feed rate except the bottom right red arrow. On level one the augers turn slow, on level six they turn fast. I have 60lbs in the hopper at the moment but I'm 99% certain there is just a rectangle hole on the bottom of the hopper without a slide door, you can actually see the first auger through it (~~2" x 3" ) when it's empty, and I don't find anything in the manual. ivanhoe , do you have a feed trim?

I also found this, I've not seen it before so I wonder if they added it to the manual since my first stove.

Another though is not so great pallet mixing if there isn't a feed trim adjustment. Grab some not so hot pellets and mix them with the good ones 50/50 to start. If still to hot mix in more % of not so good stuff say 60% not so hot to 40% heatlands.

I'll down load the manual later as I need to get some shack todo work done or momma gonna :heidi:I've promise to get an outside outlet installed so she can run a power cord to the chicken hut for the heated water dish.

I am noticing that the Michigan Hardwood pellets I'm using with my corn are in random lengths this year and some are quite long. I assume the auger is cutting them down to size as I have not had any feeding issues.

Just noticed that actually. Usually I don't pay any attention to the pellets or corn. Just fill my trash cans in the barn and set them on the deck. 4 cans equals about 2 weeks of roasting. Not sure what I'll do with the shop stove far as fueling it. Maybe a couple of trash cans in the shop in the corner and I'm in a quandry about running it too. It's an old non igniter stove so it has to run 24-7 on low fire. Maybe I'll refit it to electric ignition but I will have to machine the firepots. No big deal

I would have to assume that the shorter the pellet is, the more pellet volume can get in the auger flighting, consequently more fuel is getting burned because the flighting will only convey a set amount of fuel volume, least I think that is a correct assumption.

Can you just buy a bag of something else and run it through? See if that’s your problem. I have to admit, I’m a bit skeptical.

What a clever idea J, seems Rocky Mountain Pellets are always way too long, I've seen some like some up to 3" corncob .

Good idea Cash, I don't go to town but I'll see if I can lasso my husband to pick one or two up. I'm a bit skeptical it's short pellets too...

Great idea. That will 100% answer your short pellet question.

, WOW, thank you very much! What a wonderful Christmas present, I'll get into this tomorrow! I just used - + to see which software I have, v.1.17  I use - + to reset my augers after power outages when they stop, I never tried to press them once, always held them down for reboot. Might I ask where you found this (and also curious why tech support did not share this with us?)

Typically, stove manufacturers don't want homeowners "fiddling" with settings. Most of the time, it's a whole legal thing where they don't want you to burn your house down & then file a suit against them.

Not on subject but we have tornado warning for tonight and it's raining cats and dogs and the outside temp went from 22 to 55 in about 5 hours. Must be global warming....

One thing about Michigan weather, wait a half hour and it will change.

    Very good synopsis.

Like my USSC 6039. The owners manual never mentions the fact that every setting on the control board is 100% user programmable. You have to obtain the USSC technicians manual to program the algorithms. Not something the average buyer can do and there is an inherent liability issue. Programming in incorrect setting could cause a stove fire and a possible lawsuit so USSC is very tight lipped about that stuff, with good reason.

I totally get that, liability. And heck, don't serve hot coffee from a McDonalds drive through window or neglect to put the warning sticker on the top rung of a step ladder.

BTW, not a lot of threads stay on subject at FHC  .

This emojie is was here when I got here and it's true :Yar: lol. Stay safe in the tornado warning Corn. We got ~5" snow yesterday/last night. 10* here.

There was a video at one time about it on you tube but it's no longer there but found some one that converted it to written form. And yes liabilty is why tech support won't share that info publicly. Had the same thing with my Harman but found out how to get in.

Hope you stayed safe! A little after 5am there was a breaking news report on my local TV station about the deadly tornadoes. They are saying one of the tornadoes was on the ground for 240 miles.

Wife decided to get some holiday cheer going. So we went out and grabbed a tree. Her and the kitties decorated it once I trimmed and got it straightened up in the stand. Excited to spend our 1st Christmas.

Not the best looking, But it has a story behind it. Someone did a cut your own but decided it was too prickly, So we kind of saved it from just sitting there. We need a good prickly tree to help keep the cats out of it. Happy its not going to waste!!
