Got the truck back from the shop yesterday . Nice new windshield, bodywork done, and they did a great job spiffying up the cab while getting all the glass out. They even did a check on the moon roof to make sure the gasket isn't leaking. I could tell because they left the slide cover open. It took me a minute or two to figure out how to close it since I don't use it (heck, when I bought it used, I didn't even know it had the moon roof :)).

I know I'll still find glass shaking loose for a while, but I was impressed that they got everything out of the cup holders on the console, cleaned up the change, and returned it. Heck, I probably would have sucked that change up in the vacuum and said forgetaboutit. Not worth my time for like $2 in coins.

While it was in the shop I had them go ahead and install the new rear brakes it needed, so I'm going to test them out by going out to Keene today and picking up some pellets - not that I need pellets, with 3 tons still in the house, but I hear there are some La Cretes at the HD, so I'm going to get some to try out.

That looks really good. Hope it is what you wanted done. Looks like the shelter is back up. Did you fix the old one or replace it? Even with the mishap you had with the heavy snow, I still am inclined to think those shelters are good for what they are designed to be.

No, the shelter is not back up - the front is the only part that hasn't caved in. The centers of all the rest of the struts are now touching the ground.

I knew I wouldn't be able to do anything until spring. No big deal, I never had a garage until I bought this house, and I've never had a garage tall enough to fit an SUV. Hey, and this was the year for it to break since I am not driving to/from work .

Also, this gives me time to figure out what I want to replace it with, and where I want it. The tent garage was only up for 3 years and I'm sure it was because the insane wind that comes down the street put too much stress on everything.

IMO, in that part of the country, with the nor'easters and snow loads, you need something a little sturdier. Obviously not this big, but you get my drift.
