Hi Sub, we drove right through your neck of the woods last week and at the time, I thought of you because we hadn't heard from you in a while. Sorry to hear what you have gone through, but also very glad to hear you are on the mend and back to hang out with us again. Hoping the rest of your recovery goes quickly from here on out! Please keep us up-to-date on your status.

Hay Smoky, I've got nearly 4 years on ya. I got hung up when you were still digging post holes, tending your garden and feeding chickens. Now look at us. Who in hell could have foreseen these scenarios. But here we are. None of us willing or waiting to hang up our hats. I count my blessings every day that I have friends and family to stand by me and my wife. I have my faith.

    Weather is getting colder now.

We got our first two loads of shells far earlier than we ever have before.....
    Two weeks ago now.....
Finally last night we had to fire up the big Whitfield beast.

The little Whit could bot hack it alone.

Had a low burn in the big stove and it kept the shack toasty all night.

Day before yesterday we ran 4 barrels of shells through Munchy and got them "Stove ready"

Feels good having nearly all the 70 some odd barrels full of shells so early.
Plant manager told me they would likely be processing nuts into early summer .

We are going to go into summer chuck azz full this year.....

The plant we are dealing with now is great...in there less than 5 minutes and were loaded up and Truckin home....
Been a great start to the season.....

Mowed leaves Thursday night, then again yesterday. Only a couple of trees still holding on to leaves, so I'll have to do it again one more time. Cold front pushed in, so the nice days from last week will be just a memory.

Stove was one when I got up this morning. First time since early last week. Can't complain as we've only used about a bag of pellets so far.

Spent most of the past two days doing the same. Mowing up leaves and cleaning gutters also, because it's supposed to rain every day this week. The oaks have only dropped about half their leaves at this point, so I see this weekend repeating itself at least for the next two weekends, just hoping they drop the leaves at a slight slower pace. At times it looks like it's "raining" oak leaves around here.

Edit: just checked the forecast and turns out Friday they are predicting a low of 27 and sn*w! Sn*w for Halloween?
