The stove Chow’s have begun their migration to Home Depot. Saw about 12 tons there today.

    Yes,
He is in rehab following a fall with fx hip. Not sure about the rules at Cedars where he is, but most all Rehabs and nursing home don't allow visiting inside. Outside is one person by appointment for 15 min. with social distancing.

I heard a bird chirp that a stubborn old bear was having a birthday Monday. He starts a new decade!

After a lot of really hot day’s this summer, we’re getting some nice cool days this weekend. Actually feels like the beginning of fall. Now if we can get a bit of the rain they are predicting tomorrow, that would be great.

Same here in Maine. Not noted for being hot. I have been running two AC units just so I can keep the inside temp under 78 F. Going to open the windows and let some fresh in today. As you mentioned, we need some rain.

    Weather has been HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT HERE....ARRRRGH

Still getting work done on the snow cat project.

The S10 I got has turned out to be a great plus.

Replaced the heater core.....Dash had to come out.....

    All back together.

Yesterday The driver door came off and new hinge pins and bushings went in.

    Door closes nice now....

Removed the old steering column as it was totally trashed.

Built an all new column tube using the last 8 inches of the old column which bolts to the firewall.

New column is only a tube that will house the air lines for the steering and possibly some wiring.

The head end has a new top housing the carries the turn signal switch and the multi function switch.

Mounted the new operator station (steering controls) to a custom bracket that fastens to the top of the column.

The seat in the cab is a roach...but something good will come along.....

With the very hot weather its not much fun working outside in the heat..

Going to try and do a trial fit on the cab tomorrow.....
Excited to see that cab on the cat chassis....

NH averages 10 days at 90*+. This year so far we are at 21 days. Working from home all summer, hasn't helped as I've had to use the A/C even when it is in the mid 70's and 80's - solar gain is the biggest enemy, but having all the electronics and office lights is a factor in my office. We've also had a lot of mornings "lows" that never even made it cool enough that opening windows to cool the place off was an option.

June's bill was at $90 and myy last bill was quite high at $137 (usually $40-60 for summer months). Yesterday didn't have to run A/C at all as the highest outside temp was low 70's and had a decent cloud cover most of the day.

Weather has been very hot the past few days.

Yesterday I got out at the buttcrack a dawn and got to work on getting the cab set on the cat chassis.

Plan went very well....took about an hour and a half to get things rigged and the cab set in place.

Now the fun commences.....gotta build the new mounts to fasten the cab to the cat chassis....

Not a big deal.....just take a bit of crafty squaring and jigging is all.......

The view from the drivers seat is great.

A bit over 3 feet from the ground to the bottom of the doors.....

About 20 inches from the top of the tracks to the door sill....LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG STEP...

Talked to SmokeyTheBear today and wished him a Happy Birthday. He received the stylist that wildwest sent. Both arrived on Thursday. How he has an issue with his password to the FHC forum. we discussed resetting it. He says he is making progress.
