something else to consider is adding gas anti-freeze/treatment a/o some fuel stabilizer to your tank if your vehicle is sitting for days on end now. Here in NH with it being 60* one day and 32* the next, condensation can form in the tank if it's not full.

I received an e-mail from my insurance company (Hanover) today. They are reducing my May and June premiums by 15%.

Mine has already sent emails - started out at a 15% reduction (credit toward next bill I pay yearly s that is next October) and now is up to 25%. I'm guessing my bike insurance will not get the same benefit, even though I'm not riding either.

Already added Sea Foam a couple of weeks ago.

After inspection and tire change I ran up to the big city because our local Shaw's has been out of frozen vegies for weeks (truly out) and today was completely out of light cream too which I use instead of milk. I also needed Cockatiel food (of which no one around here sells), canned cat food and cat litter.

Okay, need is a strong word ofr everything but the light cream) - my stash was getting lower than I like - aka, <3 week's supply. But, since the shop said the truck battery was low-ish, I figured it needed a nice long drive to charge it up. Besides Walmart, I also stopped at HD to grab some cleaning ammonia (for laundry) and found Odo-ban, which is one of my favorite heavy duty cleaners.

After putting on about 90 miles today, I had 190 miles and less than 1/2 a tank, so I filled up at the Cumberland Farms that is 1/4 mile away from me. So now the battery should be fully charged and a full tank should help keep the gas "fresh".

Gotta take the car out for a nice long drive to make sure the battery gets fully charged sometime this weekend. I'm not worried about the gas in it as the garage stays at a fairly stable temp.

I bought a couple of those solar charger/tender units back in March (don't have a garage). Plug into power socket or clamp to battery.

Don't get too concerned about the gas.....it should stay good for quite awhile. If it was sitting for 3-4 months, then I'd be adding Stabil or something like that.

BTW, did the "shop" do a load test on the battery? Probably a good idea to have done. I think most AutoZone/ Advance Auto, etc, have load testers and can show you if yours is getting "iffy".

It has only been driven 4 miles a week (dump runs) since 3/16, and it was only a 3 mile drive to the shop, so it isn't surprising it was on the not at 100%. The battery is <2 years old.

Hmm, maybe I'll look into one of those for the truck. If I back the truck into the tent garage, the front would get good sun in the afternoon.

Sitting sipping a cup of coffee and enjoying watching the snow fall while absorbing the warmth from the pellet stove. Jobs going full steam ahead with average of 130 men working for the trades and some management making in a few days a week, so 130-160 people onsite everyday.

Getting ready to ramp up with a second shift but to this point no-one known has been infected site wide but a few for our clients workers have. Everyone onsite is still nervous but happy to still be working with restrictions in place, temp taken before you enter the site mandatory upon which you receive a written notice that you have to present every time you enter through the turnstile for the site. Mask if you have to in fact work in close proximity of another worker and we have installed three washing stations right in the middle of the job with soap and warm water as the workers are not suppose to use the clients bathrooms . The site is under continuous lock down meaning all gates are always locked but not much of a change as the campus is always under tight security but any deliveries the drivers are presented with 3 questions and required to wear mask 100% of the time.

Having trouble with a few trades / companies as their work force has either been laid off or restricted from working by their union or company. This is really becoming a problem as all of the work has to be sequenced near perfection and when pushing a fast track job if one predecessor is late it has a domino effect involving every following activity.
An example is the fire safing company that went from 60 workers to 2, we managed to get the Super on site but he totally freaked out when he saw how many workers were onsite.
His work is critical as if it is not performed in sequence he will get buried and not be able to access certain areas once additional work is put in place, simply will not be able to physically access areas to perform his work. He has agreed to work once the second shift starts as there will be a lot less men on site but by then he will be buried and I explained that to him and he said he would come in after hours for these areas.

Down 3 Supers as one did not feel comfortable enough to come to work , another had left due to family emergency and will be out for a week, the other is rarely in maybe once a week. So its getting really challenging but gonna keep on keeping on .

Being exceptionally careful myself as my wife has been a life long chronic asthmatic and for her to become infected would be devastating if not lethal. Job is stressful enough but with all the Covid happening its becoming quite a challenge so I decided Thursday night I was going to take a 4 day weekend Fluck it I am getting burnt and need a break.

Sunday night I crashed as I had to work the weekend last week and was totally exhausted after not getting much sleep because of RLS Insomnia and job stress.
I got up to pee and my wife was in the bathroom getting ready for bed , leaned up against the wall while taking care of business and the next thing I remember is my wife screaming out asking if I was ok. I must have blacked out and dropped like a ton of bricks as I was wedged between the toilet and shower in a world of hurt. Wife said I just dropped smacked my jaw on the tank, hit my ribs on the bowl, and smashed my knee into the wall. Felt like I had just taken a serious epic Arse whooping as my knee swelled up like a watermelon, ribs were throbbing , back was killing me along with my neck and shoulder. Had trouble sleeping as man I was hurting from getting my arse kicked by a toilet ! so at 3:00 I got up showered and off to work I went but only lasted to 9 am as pain was to distracting for me to do my job. Went home took a pain pill and chilled for the remainder of the day and went to bed early and got some sleep before getting back up and heading in for work . Doing better now as swelling has gone down but neck, back, and shoulder are fricking killing me but each day less.

With the day off I resumed on a project at home and did some taping of our entrance / stair corridor, also stripped and sanded the shelves in our original 1860 built in liquor cabinet / closet as the wife is going to paint the remainder of the cabinet but we Swedish soaped the shelves leaving them natural . Today some final sanding on the walls and ceiling along with some more taping but should have it ready for primer by the end of the day (Stairs , foyer). Also will start stripping the original flooring in the foyer as I am gonna remove some of the original paint (battleship grey) before renting a floor sander because right now I am not physically able to sand the floors. Dang edger is a killer on the back and I am having a hard enough time just doing my normal activities between my back, neck and shoulder (yup the shoulder I had surgery on wtf) so once I heal enough I'll rent one.

Today is the 16th year anniversary day since I married my wonderful wife, I have been blessed after looking for 40 years to find my life long mate and today we celebrate. We are going up to New Hampshire to grab some take out from Pickety Place and enjoy some exceptional food.
Sucks we can frequent a restaurant, sit down and enjoy an amazing meal but it is what it is and we are grateful regardless.

Have not had much time to check in but it appears everyone is keeping on and safe which is awesome, hang in there folks keep the faith and keep yourself and loved ones safe by doing the right thing(s) to make that happen. Can't wait till this is behind us all and we can return back to our normal lives as much as possible in the wake of this damm thing.

Hope all are well and healthy
    Daniel

Cat project got a big boost.

A fella answered a want ad I had posted on Craig's list looking for a Chevy V8 and Transmission.

Scored a 1977 Chevy 305 with the trans.

Actually got the entire front sub frame with the engine and trans attached.

    Got it ripped apart yesterday.

Engine out and the sub frame parked waiting for a new owner ....

Got a cool aftermarket "Hot Rod" type engine mount from Trans Dapt.

Had to build a lifting rig to be able to handle the entire package.

A bit of measuring, cutting and welding and we were all set to go.

I made the lift with an adjustable slide to allow getting the "Pick point" just right...
I liked the front mount well, so ordered up the trans mount too.

Far easier to use one of these ready made units as opposed to starting from scratch....

    Far cheaper too....

Getting this entire power pack was a blessing for sure...
At $325 for all of it....plus I can resell the sub frame and likely recoup much if not all of the cash outlay.....end up with a real inexpensive power pack...
