Posted in "whats in the hopper" as well, but I forgot how good these old Corinth were. I thought they were hardwood/shoulder season.

They look like softies and burn hot and clean

Found out today that I will be working from home for the next couple of weeks (or more). I'm lucky to be able to work from home, and it will save me about $75 in gas and tolls per week. Brought home a monitor to use with my work laptop, so now I have two, which is a good thing and will make working at home much easier, but a pain to set up in the small space I have. I've set the other monitor on pieces of wood to get it close to the same height as the one on the printer.

I set the keyboard on the laptop to cover company information and normally it would be on top of the stand.

As long as the cats respect the monitor sitting on top of my printer (usually one lays there while I am in the office) and I don't wipe it out coming thru the door from the kitchen, I'm all set.

Is the height right for your wrist to rest on the table? I did the work from home thing during my last few years of employment. I had to adjust my chair height, and have one of those curved keyboards or my hands got cramps easily. Make sure to move about. It is surprising how much you can do without constant interruptions. You'll hate it when you have to go back.

I put in another 11 hour day in yesterday at the store. Hoarders still buying more than they could possibly use, leaving nothing for others, and still complaining. I have 1 year, eight and a half months until semi retirement. I can't wait to be done with the public.

The height is fine - I work from home during snowstorms and most of last week, so I already had the station on the right set up. Actually, you shouldn't be resting your wrist on the surface while typing - just like piano playing. I just had to add the monitor that sits on top of the printer, then adjust the height of the original monitor. I usually use the mouse on my regular desk (it is just to the right, against a wall - the corner to the desk is literally 8" from the corner of the stand the work station is on (getting to that door is not important since it is only the attic access hatch).

Although I don't mind working from home, I have fairly constant interruptions from the cats wanting attention and the birds will get noisy at times. Closing the doors to the room is not an option since it wouldn't allow warm air from the pellet stove to enter.

Biggest issue of working at home for an extended time is that work is basically the only social interaction I get besides my once per month HOG meeting. I don't mind being alone all the time, just recognize the potential danger of complete isolation on a long-term basis.

    Yes, me too.
But this crisis has it's effect on us as well..
Albeit perhaps not as bad as some who are not there yet..
I worry about the market, as it is what my retirement is
    predominantly based on.

The older we get, the less time we have to see a recovery
of the current loses in value.. And if you are in a position where you
are mandated to take assets out, yearly, when you really do not want to
    it is a double whammy..
So what was once comfortable bed, is now an old mattress..

Well yeah, and that is great!

Not quite the same as face to face or even voice to voice - and the cats don't talk back (or at least not in English).

X2. Although my none of my retirement is directly based on the market, my state retirement is and my wife has a 401k, so yeah it affects me a little. The hoarding on the other hand is out of control. My wife keeps a stockpile of TP so we're set for a while. I would think the hoarding will ease even if the virus persists. Time will tell I guess.

you know....how sad is it that my life really hasnt changed with all this quarantine stuff going on? I dont frequent bars, social gatherings, etc. I still work, cant work from home, so have to go in. But, supplying heat in most cases would be considered essential, so, still open and likely to be so. I live alone, so, plenty of food....don't use alot of TP, but Ive probably got 2 years' supply, even WITHOUT planning. Food? Like bogieb says, I might not be thrilled with what I am eating, but I am good for quite some time with my preserving, etc, and I am not above eating the neighbors dog, push comes to shove. I even wash my hands.
Overblown panic everywhere, but thats my opinion. The media, folks in the medical profession, etc.
Although likely my trip to the Amalfi coast of Italy will likely be curtailed in early May, and the girlfriend isnt happy, but, she will get over it....or not, but whatever.
I am sure this has already been paraphrased here, but this thread is TL;DR
