    Weather has been wet...wet...and wetter.

Next week there is some dry weather on tap......TIME FOR THE FINAL SHELL RUN THIS SEASON

Spoke with JOSE Friday and we are all set for TUESDAY

We have been running out some shells we had stored since 2011 I THINK and we have one barrel left in the barn of that old material...

I will be soooooooooooo glad to be shed of that super dusty stuff that's full of sticks and husks.

Once this stuff is gone we may be able to retire the screening bucket for good......

All the new stuff goes through Munchy and is stove ready at that point.

We will have 10 empty barrels available by Tuesday ... just enough to hold a full load from the dumpster.......

HOPEFULLY....we will soon be able to get by running the little stove more and that will slow down consumption a bunch.

Once the last barrel of the old dusty stuff is used up I can readjust the big stoves settings for good.

After we got the new controller running we were using materials from munchy (Coarser stuff) and then we switched to the finer material to use it up.

I had to changed the feed time on.... set it to only 2 seconds feed on instead of the 3+ it had been with the coarser material.

Also we won't have to keep tabs on what bucket of shells feeds what stove..

All in all....it's been a good season, even after having to change suppliers and all that.

Munchy worked out really well....with far less dust in the house from pouring the finer materials in the stove

The little stove performs much much better with the coarser materials too.

Munchy and two new controllers for this season.....100%
    Everything is working great.

Back last season with all the changes in going to the 1/2 shells and then this season having to find a new supplier....very stressful.
    I do not like change.....
We have to go farther and pay a little more now, but the product is better...even though we have to do a bit more work with it..

I guess it's for the better....

Still irritates me that after 27 years with the old company...they just kicked us to the curb.... :(

This summer I want to enhance our spare parts list.

Extra timers and relays and a few other goodies JUST IN CASE....
I have auger motors and room fans on the shelf
Recently bought the all silicone exhaust fan gaskets NICE
Should be far less stress going into next fall...

As soon as the weather gets a lot warmer we need to run Munchy a lot
about 40 barrels of materials that need to be processed...

Having to dodge the rain and cold to do Munchy sucks...

Coming up we will be able to just scoop the materials out of a barrel and into a 5 gallon bucket and not have to fuss with it...

    GONNA BE SWEEEEEEEEEET

    Bogie..
    I don't understand your predicament..
All I am doing is eliminating the thermostat altogether
    when operating in stove mode.
Nothing changes operation from the stock Harman W/O thermostat..
Stove mode/auto, the fan does stay on.

I could use a recommendation on a high wind exhaust cap. Ours was sandblasted from dirt in the wind by the second season and has blown off twice. First time he put it back on, second time, well, I think it's in Nebraska, MIA. When we have high sustained winds the flame changes (the kind of wind that sucks the plumbing vents, the water levels of the toilets gets sucked up then returns when the wind lets up   ).

Yes it does. But, for both of my stoves, that only occurs when the temperature on the stove control is at least 75*. I don't want it that warm, so use the feed rate to control the temp.

    Original post -

Dan posted this, thought I would give it a try
Then I said I would give it a try - and reported on why it doesn't work for me (have to have the stove dial temp too high to keep the house comfortable for me).

Think people read more into it than I intended since I wasn't trying to solve anything besides people making comments on how I use the feed rate.

I snoozed and woke up to last years replay. Though it was the real deal until they cut to the booth with an update. Would likely have never know the difference. :(

    :headbang:

Real racing starts next week anyway! :D
