    Thanks all.

The immediate family losses we had in 2019 were many, too many. This was the only one we didnt see coming and has hit us hard. She got real sick, real fast.

Nellie was always there to lift our spirits when we were in crisis-she always knew when we needed it. This heart hole is all hers and it isnt the same without her here this morning, it never will be. She was that special. Six years was not enough, we always thought she would grow old right alongside us.

So very sorry to hear the news...
Our little fur children leave us far too soon.
Their passing leaves such a huge hole in our hearts.

G, so sorry to hear about Nellie. Only an animal and pet lover can appreciate that this is one of the hardest things to go through. Here is to looking forward to a much better year ahead in 2020.

P.S. I believe that picture is the same one you posted a few years back, which led to the wife and I visiting and hiking Mt. Major that same year, and we've been hiking it every year since. Really love it there, and hoping the opportunity will present itself for us to get up there with the dogs, it really is perfect for them.

    Thanks Larry! You to brother..

Mainly organizing the garage and then working on the attic when spring hits. The place is a wreck after all the projects so it’s time to clean and organize before we do more stuff. :picard:

Fix it and forget it in Pete lingo is fix it and forget where the heck I put the tools for the next project....

That is tragic. So very sorry that you had to make that decision. When I've had to do that, I always feel guilty for many months. No amount of rationalization seems to help. You learn to live with it. What I did learn was to invite another fur friend into my heart.

Had a 15% off $100 coupon good thru today from TSC. Decided since I only had 3.62 tons on hand (181 bags), I better get another 1/2 ton. Could have fit them in the basement, but had a clear spot in the garage where the last ton was, so it's stashed in there for now.

Our first black lab had to be put down at 5 years old because of epilepsy. Our current American cocker spaniel is 11 years old, blind in one eye, deaf, has skin issues, takes two pills a day, and eye drops just to keep her comfortable. Not to sound crass, but I have gone to relatives funerals, feeling less pain than when we put our dog down. The next one will be in a year or two I imagine. There are no words that will stop the pain. There is however, the good memories. Embrace them.
