    Anyone here have/use/own a satellite phone ????

    I bought a globalstar last summer at a garage sale for dirt cheap.

    Guy had used it out in the bush on a contract job where there is ZERO cell service.

    He retired and no longer needed it.

    Its a Globalstar GSP-1600 and we picked up a Military hard case system that allows use in the car/truck

    Anywhere ya can see the sky it will make a call.

    WE have used it in some deep canyons where a cell phone is absolutely worthless.

    A sweet tool if ya go where cell phones can't.

    A buddy of mine borrowed ours a while back and were way into the puck weeds and came across a couple and the fella was having a stroke...

    He called 911 and within a short time a chopper arrived..
    Closest cell coverage was a loooooong way off.

    Fella survived fine due to the quick help.

    Great tool.

    The phone is a bit clunky (Size and shape) but its got the ability when its needed

    I am glad I bought it....

    We do get in places that cell phone are useless, and the Globalstasr is a great comfort.
