Been fooling about with GIMP (Open source type program similar to Photo shop)

Trying to get a decent rendering of what I want in a decal to place on the Munchy machine.

Took several pictures and then grabbed a little rodent off the net to pose..

Pending on what the final draft looks like the critter may change some.

So far after beating my head against the wall for hours learning how to make the program do what I want, I finally got a halfway decent first draft...

The plan is an 8" round decal...

It literally took more effort to get that squirrel sitting in front of the pile of shells and the piccy somewhat decent then building the machine...

Computer graphics are a sweeeeeet deal... just need a lot of time learning the program is all...

Being a photographer I know what you mean , I keep my editing software simply , no photo shop for me , I don't have the time or patience for that . They are awesome programs , but there is a huge learning curve . I like the decal .

    Thank you very much.

I agree 100% on the learning curve.

I am very much a HANDS ON type and just read enough to get me on the page and then go at like I am killing snakes...

I understand the concept, so it was just a matter of getting the ideas into reality.

Once it finally dawned on me that I needed to start the picture as LAYERS and got the background in first, then added the shell pile, then the squirrel and then added the text followed by merging the layers down and then cut it to a round and saved that.... then the plan took shape.

In true hoarder fashion I was on these like a dog on a bone

    30 bag lignetics gold-ligies.jpg

30 bags for $4 per off CL. Had to travel 33 miles, but I wasn't doing anything important this morning anyway.

The guy said his buddy burns TSC (as I usually do) and he likes the Lignetic Golds better. Not like he was trying to make a sale - I'd already committed, so I'll make sure to hang onto them until a time I can give them a decent test (ie, not shoulder season).

    B...
Thank you very much for the compliments on the decal.
    That stuff is tedious work...
By the time I had the Squirrel looking good I had a headache big time..

Great score on the pellets too.

We ran Munchy yesterday afternoon and finished up all the 1/2 shell stuff we had on hand.
The plan is to get more as soon as possible and get them inside...then crush them at our leisure.

Doing shells in the nice weather is not bad at all... Having always had to do it in the cold while dodging rain, snow and all manner of the inclement crap Ma nature can throw at us, this nice weather stuff is sweeeeeet.

Counting barrels yesterday we have about 32 empties that we can fill up..

Going to be a busy spring

Fooled with the Munchy decal some more... cleaned it up some under 400% mag and changed the text a bit as well.
Really makes a big difference when the edges of the graphics are spiffed up at 400% and then when you pull back to standard size it looks really good.

More of the learning curve

I like the addition of the belt length and voltage - reminders that are easy to find if needed.

    Thanks B

The voltage thing was just because I could... the belt length could very well make someone happy a few years down the road..
With the 3 prong plug it's rather obvious what to plug it in to...

But the cool factor ya know.

I messaged the squirrel a bunch to get him spiffy.

His tail looked nasty (Maybe it had been chewed up by a pussycat ????

All good to go now....just need to get my friend who has access to a machine that will make the decal to run it.

Waiting for some warm weather to strip the machine apart and paint it.
