Whatever it takes to get the job done the way you want it . I love my 5.5 y/o Samsung. Course I don't do nearly the amount of laundry that you do - I hope it lasts you a good long time!

Bought a set of used Bosch front loaders at the new southern shack. WOW, are they quiet, and seem to use hardly any water at all. Did the white vinegar & baking soda treatment twice on the washer, and not a hint of any smell in the door seal. Leave the front door cracked open....so far, so good.

Thanks BB, learned my lesson. I bought a first generation LG in Jan 2004 ( I had hot water in that laundry room), lasted 7 years (control panel died) then the Samsung lasted 2011-2018. It was the lady I hired to help me in the house that could not help herself but over load it (and the dryer, but that still works thank goodness) that seems to have killed the braces for the drum. Oh well, that lady was a little fireball cleaning thing to be reckoned with that I really appreciated. I have a feeling this one will last longer as am gentle with them as well I bought the 5 year ext warr.
Woo Pete is front loader fan now :) Glad you like em' ! I used the old style tubs from the 80's to 2000's and never gave a second thought to water usage, til here where water for toilets, showers, dishwasher and clothes washer comes here 400 gal per 35 minute trip and that stupid maytag top loader only did a satisfactory job at cleaning even using "deep fill" drained the cistern and yadda yadda you know my issues with getting our temperamental pump primed and working again after running dry.....

The front loaders I've had rarely get stinky but when they do thats another reason I appreciate the heater, clean cycle super heats it all odors gone, reminds me of the autoclaves I used at the vet clinic. Sanitary cycle gives me peace of mind with washing rugs etc with pet accidents and gets all odors out if I errantly forget to dry a load before falling asleep early. That and between the pets and odd kiddo stuff that ends up in the rubber seal drain holes and the drain below I'm pretty good about swiping the seal with a used dryer sheet when emptying the dryer for dog hair or stray kleenex or store reciept left in a pocket and emptying the drain strainer below. Too bad cleaning the Drolet was not that easy :wacky:

Not sure I want to know what it says about me that post so much about washing machines and vacuums. Oh well.

DA FANCY STOVE CONTROL IS DONE (ALMOST)

Finished the wiring a bit ago.
Going to swap out the 1 meg ohm pots and install 30 K ohm instead.

The 1 M ohm jobs will do nothing for the unit.

Above 35K ohms the voltage drops too low to be useful...

30 K ohms drops the low end of the voltage to about 80 vac and any lower is useless.

New pots will be here in a few days...

Getting all the goodies crammed into the can was a real RICHARD.....

On 1/25 I efiled my taxes. Yesterday, for giggles, I looked to see if there was any deposit from the IRS - it hit my bank on 2/6!! That says one of three things:
    1. They lied when they said the shut down would make getting returns longer
    2. I'm on of about 100 people that filed
    3. My tax situation is so sad that they let the computer do it; no deductions except standard so it's just tell us how much you made and how much you paid and we'll tell you if we think you paid your "fair share"
I'm voting for a combo between 1 and 3. Naturally I think I paid more than my "fair share", but doesn't everyone?

Was 70* the other day, 50* right now. Sold most of the moving boxes I had to a local guy, he said "we think these temps (it was 55* out) are cold.....you probably don't think so being from NY".....he was right. :D

Well, everyone may not think "I" paid my fair share, but I'm pretty sure it would be hard to find anyone that thought they, themselves didn't pay theirs (regardless of what they did, or didn't pay). I would bet there is a very small amount of people that voluntarily add $$ to pay down the debt.

I did our taxes , but not yet filed and won't be until the last moment , because I won't be checking for a deposit , it will be a withdrawal :hair:. Apparently the IRS thinks that the $24 k my wife and I already paid is not our fair share and they would like a little bit more :bug:Tax cut my Azz , they all Lie .

OK time for another Smoothie before I go down a forbidden path

Nah,that costs too much, need both driveshafts and shifter to do that conversion, and some rockcrawlers still use the 205,keeping the price up.This thing has prob 260k miles, used to haul a camper, and spent 6 years pushing a HM9 meyer commercial plow,I will prob wait til summer and just put a chain in it.

I still like my old top loader, older stuff is cheaper to repair. But,over the years,I modified it to have 4 water levels, instead of 2,and modified it to have a hot,and warm wash, and a warm rinse, which really helps when on a well.
