Thats sort of what I was thinking but more of does the hot burning pellet actually burn faster therefore needing to replenish the pot quicker? Although if that hot burning pellet warms the room faster then the call for heat should be shortened thus using less pellets.

Dont forget that is a max feed rate with a Harman and up to that rate the controller will vary the feed rate as needed.

Overall, 300/ton isnt really outrageous for a great pellet given some of the pricing out there.

The call for heat will be shorter, but during that time it was burning more. So it should even out.

I believe I tested Infernos and they were the same. Until they turned my burnpot into a pot of rock.

The results are in - I burned less than 2 bags in a 24 hour period. It was as cold this morning as any morning in the last couple of days - but the first day I've burned that little (been around 2.5 bags/day). Just remember, I have both stoves on Room temp / auto so they shut down when they have satisfied the call for heat. In fact, I can't get a good reading from the P61a on how hot it may be burning because it hasn't been getting up to full temp before it goes into shut down again. I also can get the oven thermometer in the same position as on the P43 because there is more space between the top of the door and the air tubes, so that definitely prohibits getting an idea of how the two stoves compare..

Neither burn pot has needed scrapping and the glass is still pretty clean on the P61a (never have any issues with the P43).

Edit: Just realize3 there was also a big difference today from the last several - I didn't have any shades/drapes open to let sun in and get solar gain. Even without that gain I used less pellets.

Got home and since they are talking about some good sn*w storms this weekend I decided I should at least make sure the blower will start (hasn't been used since early or mid December). Poured a bit of Sea Foam in the tank, added some SF to what was in the gas can and then filled up the tank on the blower (emptied the gas can too). Primed twice and pulled - nah, it needs a couple more pumps on the prime. Yep, worked good. Let it run for a couple minutes out on the driveway while I filled the small gas up from a larger one I have. Added Sea Foam to that too (It most likely had some in it, but I can't remember). Anyway, should be good to go for the weekend.

Heck yeah can't go wrong with the Seafoam I generally do the same exact thing and it has never failed me you should be good to go, Snow where ? hopefully up north as we have been either North or South of every storm this year and I cannot complain but it sure is an anomaly for Lunenyburg. Ack better check the weather now that I opened my trap ....
Wintry mix high of 28* and low of 5* ?? weird stuff you would think it would be all snow but heh lets see as that is a way off.

(Although I would have preferred 8" of powder last week,

compared to the 2" of water logged crap that we got..)

Yesterday dawned clear and crisp with a lovely stiff breeze blowing.

Given the weather forecast is heading into the toilet by tomorrow we decided to do another shell run.

Loaded up the outfit and got after it by 9:30 am

A full load of these lovely golden brown little jewels all transferred to barrels now with a season total of 7440 pounds hauled in.

We will likely wait until late Feb or even March now to get more, as the plant will operate until May this year.

As they say..."Another one in the books"

31 barrels of un-crushed material on the slab now, and 17 barrels of last years "Stash" available if we need it. (Always try to keep a backlog just in case)

After speaking with the plant personnel yesterday it appears that the refit of the old baghouse/silo and trash fans may drag into next season....so we are definitely looking at building a copy (loose term) of the little cracker the manager loaned us.

BIGGER... FASTER... LARGER HOPPER...EASIER OPERATION... BETTER SIZE GRADATION
