Mondays Suck Period going back to Hellvard always bad but feeling better about having some stock in the hole for now. The fricking Sump Pit is not working perfect so I will be heading back to drop some serious cash on a very very good one, which I hate to do but I don't want to think about it anymore especially after digging a new pit and installing a new Basin.Haa had to throw one in of the Divine Ms. Murphy she is nearing 17 and still full of Pizz and vinegar, a rescue dog so she is almost as fuxed up as her Pappy ! Love my little girl
Here is what I have for the current stash for now. IMG_0352.jpg IMG_0353.jpg IMG_0350.jpg IMG_0351.jpg

One of the best features of the "new" Explorer versus the 2004 - the Hill Descent Control. I used it this morning on a snow/ice covered hill that isn't very long, but is steep and has 2 curves in it. When I had manual transmissions, I would use 2nd gear to minimize braking and keep traction. Since I have had automatics, that means more braking. The 2004 I would change from Drive to 3rd or 2nd, but was really not sure how good that was for the transmission - especially since I didn't stop at the top of the hill (gotta be aware of the vehicles behind that won't/can't stop - but are tailgating nonetheless).

The Hill Decent Control is just a push button that maintains the speed you are at as long as your foot is off the gas. If you brake even further, it will control to the speed you slowed down to. By feel, it "drags" the transmission somewhat (as one would using a low gear for a manual), but not excessively - however that may be because I depressed the brake pedal a couple of times which signals the truck not to change gears the way it normally would. The description of the system says it uses the brakes, but I never felt them (maybe the ABS is smoother than my previous vehicles). I'll find out later when the snow is deep how well it really works on the 2 mile / 600ft decent on my way home.

Cancelled my appointments for today. Snowing here, not bad, but no need to get on the interstate and have to deal with passing trucks or ice on the road. I'll just hand loose here at home and let the young ones have the road. My reaction time isn't what it was. I can do OK but why risk it.
Schools are closed, that is justification enough.
