BB snap a pic of the OEM blower and the new blower.

IIReadC you said the dayton has a capacitor? Not sure the OEM did, IIRC they were shaded pole motors. Your controller may not like that!!

Just unplug the new blower and see if it acts different?

So now I'm thinking that the combustion motor se3ized. I actually got the distribution motor to start up in test after re-butting one of the wires, but the combustion motor didn't go. damm it!

9* in the morning and winds, then snow. Yay, having fun.

They are known for getting a chunk behind them, stopping them.Spin it a few times by hand,or whatever is easiest to get in there, pencil, etc.Of course, unless this was your original problem.

I don't understand what you mean by "spinning" it. Am I spinning the fan blade inside the ash pan area?

Thank you everyone for trying to help. I know it is hard to troubleshoot long distance, but you guys kept giving suggestions that eventually led to the solution.

What ultimately fixed it? Was it just a loose wire?

Very cold here today too, although not as bad as you had it. Temp never got over 34 and the wind was so strong, it felt like it was in the teens. I do believe today would be the first "I guess it's time to go buy a few bags of pellets." day for folks around here.

    I just got flame!

Originally it was a loose wire, but then the combustion blower was "stuck" and wouldn't turn. badbob told me how to turn the motor to get it "unstuck" (technical terms, I know). Will probably need to get a combustion blower to have ready, bur for now all is good.

I plowed snow away from shed today, got pellet hauler parked in lower yard for the winter, out of the way(before snow gets 2 deep),moved vehicles around, gonna try and fix differential in one of my vehicles tomorrow, supposed to be 45(I have no garage, just gravel/mud driveway),and helped 3 people fix pellet stoves(1 here,2 at "other place"),and donated to the guys daughter, here on the forums, that had the accident. So,I actually accomplished stuff today, lol

I would have thought that also, but the ones I used for specifically for use in the outside lanterns. my lanterns are open in the bottom. The ones with the bulb upside down are working as good as the day I installed them, but the upright ones have had to be replaced. I haven't had one last more than 10 months. Has to be related to moisture finding its way into the light socket.
