That you can be assured of my friend, set some ground rules most importantly no drinking ! while unloading so I can feel any and all pain. Breaks in between being what use to take me an hour took 4 hours and heavily dependent upon my left arm carrying from the underside as nothing went on either shoulder. Left Bicep was whining a bit but all in all a good soreness today from actually doing some physical work.

Only 8 more weeks of PT (switching to once a week) and I should be good to go. Interesting post op with the Doc last week as he had the pics from the operation and added some additional information after I asked why is it taking so long and I am still in so much pain ? Not sure why he did not mention it before in addition to all the other crap he looked at me and said “your shoulder was so worn out I had to re-shape it and the hole in your Bicep I patched up is adding to the recovery time along with all the arthritis “
This was 13 weeks after surgery and third post-op I wanted to ask why the Fux you wait this long to share this ? But didn’t.

All good just annoying to not be able to do all the crap I need to.
Most important thing he did say which made me quite happy was that he expected me to make a full recovery ! Granted I will have to keep up with the Grueling exercising each day as he also said keep up with you exercises ! as I would be in much worse shape had I not been so vigilant ( obsessed actually pain is a great motivator) with my exercising.

Do you have it stored someplace for the winter, at one of those places that keeps the battery up etc.?

Yeah, at the dealer. It is kept in a nice warm place, they keep the battery tender on it, I can visit whenever I'm there and also they do a wash and some service (service and level of wash/detail depends on the tier I pick) and do a general look over of the whole bike. Plus, I get invited to the storage party in which I have won decent door prizes all but one year; riding boots, Stage 1 on my old bike, etc.

Pete my doc said to try the 1/2 + 1/4 of the 5mg Amlodipine dosage to see if the reduction clears up my dizzies. I told him that a long term diastolic below 60 doesn't work well for me. Hopefully the slight reduction will do the trick the 1/2 screws me up after 3 days. Folks just so you understand this med builds up and has quite a variable half life(30 to 50 hrs depending upon Kidney function). For me the effective half life is closer to the 50 hr figure than the 30 hr one.

I have been so dizzy of late. Might be the wt. loss, might be the meds catching up with me. My dosing on most of them have maxed out. Most of my dizzy spells are in the morning if I delay eating breakfast right after taking the meds. I catch myself tipping over 2-3 times a day. Good thing we have too much furniture so I can catch myself before I go all the way down. I'll see the doctor Monday AM.

Hey Larry, maybe I heard it wrong, but aren't you supposed to take meds along with, or after you eat?

It really is med specific for a lot of meds it really doesn't matter.

Some yes, some no, but for mine, it is yes. Doesn't always work out that way. Mostly my fault for being to darn slow at everything. This morning, I put my meds out and waited until I had breakfast ready. Some dizzy spells but not as bad. My MD's office called and canceled my AM appointment so I have to wait until Friday to see him. Even doctors have sick days. At least my is mindful of others enough not to try to work sick and spread it all around.

I hope you are not exceeding you limitations. You can and will delay healing and can undo any good done or ever end up worse off. example, partial tear becomes a full tear. Trying to be creative may only worsen your condition or make a mess of your other scholder. I've seen it happen over and over and.....
Just learn to look beyond your "round to its" They will wait just as you must. Good luck with your recovery, live to fight another day!

Thanks Larry great advice and I am always open to learning from others. I am being exceptionally careful and its killing me to do so but only have to pause and think for a moment what the last 8 months have been like. The leaves will probably winter where they are as its a monumental task and one I am certainly not up to yet even as much as its driving me crazy OK crazier and I am sure the neighbors are not to happy but if it bugs them to much they can come on over and do it. May check to see what it cost to have it done.
    Thanks again Larry

Last Wednesday the TV satellite box started resetting itself OVER AND OVER, AND OVER AGAIN...... [IMG] And then came the distinct smell of hot electrical components [IMG]

    OK....BEEN THERE DONE THAT BEFORE.

The downstairs box (For our tenant) gave up a year or so ago and did the exact same thing...

I call up DTV and it takes 15 minutes to finally convince the tech the the box is toast..

First question "Is it plugged in" ????
Did you check the circuit breaker?

I explain the fact three times that the box is hot, smells bad and the little blue lite does not come on any more...

Finally we get to replacing the box with a new one [IMG]

We get all the numbers off the box and such, and then there is the part about the 5-7 days to get the dammed thing here.

    OMG..... [IMG]

Then I am brought up to speed on the fact that Standard Def. TV will not be available starting in early 2019 and we will need to upgrade to Hi def... [IMG]

    Anyway... back to reality...

Replacement box came last night on the "WIDDLE BROWN TRUCK"

Decided to wait until this morning to fool with activating the thing (Much clearer head AND possibly more patience....

    I digress.

Meanwhile while we were waiting for the box to get here I started looking over the ramifications of upgrading to HI DEF...

The family room is the "Home Theater" and has a huge Yamaha surround sound system that I installed back in 1993

Took a minimal amount of time to figure out that the Sound system is a prehistoric monster.

NO HDMI and after contacting Yamaha I find out that we are pretty much unable to use this old system with the new Sat boxes and that time has run out for this old girl.. ARRRRRRRRGH

Back in 2008 we bought a BLU RAY PLAYER AND A NEW AMP/RECEIVER and found out that the new boxes were not compatible with the old Yamaha speakers...

So these new units have been hole up in the closet all this time.

These units may be a tad off from new state of the art, but they are HDMI compatible and will work fine.... AND THEY ARE PAID FOR [IMG]

    So now what ????? [IMG]

Well, the big screen TV is still working great....

    Not to be.
The TV is NTSC only, screwed there too... not compatible for the digital satellite box.

Then I figured out that we are gonna need a new dish too.
DTV (ATT) will supply that stuff and the boxes come early next year....

At this point its pretty much a fact that we are gonna need to rebuild the entire system...

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ are a big deal for retired folks ya know, and after heading off to Fry's and Best Buy it became obvious that it was gonna cost a fortune to replace the system... and when the young sales rep starts off by showing us a MODEST set of main front speakers with a price of $400 EACH and then we need the center, the two rears and the Sub woofer too YEAH BUDDY. Then we look at the cool stuff at $2000 per front and on it went... OH MY GAWD

    HOPE

After taking stock in the fact that we do have 2 major pieces of the puzzle in hand (Blu ray and the Amp/rec) we needed to start by scaring up a much newer TV.

CRAIG'S LIST TO THE RESCUE [IMG]

The current TV is a Sony 50 inch plasma (Beast will heat the house and weighs a ton)

I wanted a slightly bigger screen of say 55 to 65 inches as the room is large (18x20 feet)

Started cruising Craig's and found all manner of stuff for sale (waaaaay new or old junk)

Yesterday morning I found a nice 3 year old Magnavox 55 inch LED HD unit with remote that sounded good and the price was reasonable at $225

Call the dude and we head over to Portland to take a peek at the unit.

After trying the thing out we did some negotiating and came away for $175

Got the beast home, in the house and temporarily hooked up with the Blu ray and running..

    OH MYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.....SWEEEEEEEEET

I own one Blu ray disc (Came with a DVD I bought) so I watched Star Wars 7 on the new TV.

The sound from the on board speakers is fairly good, but nowhere close to the surround system...

Soooooooooooooooooo...at least we have made some great strides in this debacle..

I am still pretty sure that we will scare up a fairly new Surround sound system at a cheap price.....

Best part is that there are always those folks who just gotta have the latest and greatest tech stuff and are willing to part with their 1-2 year old stuff CHEAP...

    And the battle goes on..

Larry, I used these for years for morning pills. Maybe you could find something simpler, or even a soda cracker or like til you get around to your real breakfast?

Yes, no doubt they are, not an azz at all. That said sometimes anything that might help to get some food down the hatch to then be able to take pills with no prep beyond opening a wrapper is helpful :)

I haven't used those since the 90's but they were a big help back then.
