I’ve found that spending a little more for some softwood results in a much cleaner stove, and less work for me on the back end.

Don't know which washer she finally got, but mine doesn't have a spot to put additional laundry detergent for a "pre-wash"....it does have "heavy duty" wash cycle and "heavy" soil level, so maybe one of those would do the trick.

Always put the detergent (powder or liquid) in the bottom of the washer before adding clothes....I do that with whitening powder too.

Make sure WWW got the "HE" liquid detergent.

Also, I read an article from a Whirlpool technician that said that basically, we put WAY too much detergent in the washer. They did tests without ANY detergent, and the clothes got clean. There is a LOT of left over detergent in the clothes to begin with. I cut my detergent down by 2/3rds, and clothes are as clean as ever.

Sooo I worked around the house again today. Put shelf together and filled it with crap from the garage. Tried to get all the lights in garage to work again, but I'm gonna have to go get a few ballasts. Fixed a wire for the radio on the bike and did some poking around and found a Vance and Hines Fuelpak fuel controller. Much like a Power Commander. Looked up the latest map and it was different than what was in there. So I updated it. Also tightened the exhaust bolt and Intake manifold. It still has a little spit or back fire at throttle opening. Not everytime, once in a while. Definitely runs stronger now. Cooler weather and wifey getting over bronchitis kept us off the bike except my little 10 mile test ride.
Did some work to the mower and leaf vac, going to do a good cleaning and service to both machines as leaf season will be here very soon

50 here going down to the same mid to low 40's stove is running and I am loving it warming my old bones and shoulder !
Spent Sunday ripping the stoves apart and fired them up , purchased a new igniter coil for the p68 as last year as the existing one was acting funky but figured what the heck give the one in it a go and low and behold working like a charm. I also purchased a new flame guide and I have to say Who woulda known ?! What a fricking difference it has made I am blown away as the stove is working as it did the first day I brought it home. Was trying to figure out at the end of last season why I was getting some funky burns, ended up replacing gaskets but while it helped some things were just not exactly right. Well now they are and I still can't believe that a flame guide made such a huge difference.

Now I just need to figure out how to get the pellets as I have only but 10 bags left over , unfortunately because of the shoulder deal I cannot really load up so I will be ordering 10 ton delivered to the side yard just have to figure out how to get them down into the cellar without blowing the last 6 weeks of PT and certainly not screwing up the repair work that has been done. Don't really know any kids around so one way or another Ill figure it out . Sucks it so late in the pre-season as all the pellets are near their maximum price already but heh is what it is just have to bite the bullet and get them here to the homestead. If I am going to spend premium $ might just go ahead and have 10 ton of Vermont's delivered.

PT is going awesome considering its taking so fricking long but making continued progress and man I can't tell you how much I anticipate being a full man again and taking care of what I need to . Still have 4-6 weeks of PT ahead of me and finally starting to get some sleep , not a lot but Ill take some for now.
Work sucks but whats new, went back to work last week and man it really sucks on top of this fuxing annoying shoulder but can see the light at the end of the tunnel or at least hope it is.
    Hope all are well

Just a thought but last year Hamshaw Lumber in Keene, NH carried a Cubex pellet in a 20 pound bag. It had a different name on the bag but was definitely Cubex. Price was the same per ton as the 40 pound Cubex as I recall.

LB, when you get them delivered, I can come down and get some tonnage in the basement for you to hold over until your PT is complete. Just need a week or so heads-up, for scheduling.

Hi Pete, imacman , I bought this one

Shop Maytag 4.7-cu ft High-Efficiency Top-Load Washer with Agitator (White) at Lowes.com

The main reason I used powder detergent was for the "prewash" function. There were 4 compartments, wash/prewash/bleach/softner. Prewash only works with powdered deterg as liquid would run down both wash/prewash compartments all at once so the normal wash cycle would not have deterg, powder deterg just sat there in the compartment instead of running down the line till the machine did it's thing rinsed the wash cycle deterg at the appropriate time.

    Old front loader :

The deterg dispenser in this one is in a funny spot, (yes, there is high efficiency symbol on the new liquid deterg, its Gain :)

    New top loader

I had some pretty stinky loads from when the old machine broke, I used the sanitize cycle on this new one and yay, the stink is gone.

I tried Gain a few years ago.....didn't like it. I'm back to my old standby (and the one Consumers Reports has consistently rated #1).....Tide.....I use Tide Cold Water version.
