I hauled 1 of my 2 tons of MWP's down to the basement yesterday and I sure am feeling it today. My legs are like rubber. I got home from work today and my step-daughter was here taking the 2nd ton down. She had 35 bags done when I arrived. I asked her what the hell she was doing and she replied that she was preventing me from doing it. Her brother showed up and finished the last 15 bags. I gave her hell but really appreciate her effort.

Rubber legs is what I get after a session on the exercise bike. I get off the bike and everything is wobbles.

That was my first thought when the change was announced. Medical/drug community will not be happy until everyone is on some sort of pill/injection. I still believe that. Even if it started as a drug company grab, that means that you have to see your doctor on an annual (or semi-annual) basis to get drugs renewed - so they benefit from constant repeat business.

Don't give her hell, give her an atta girl. Why shouldn't she help if she wants to? Unless there is some underlying medical issue?

I thanked her profusely and told her not to do it again. She assured me that she wouldn't, once was enough.

It doesn't take a lot of pellet lugging to cause most women to say never again.

You guys hang out with women type that I am not familiar with. Heck, when I went and picked up a 1/2 ton of pellets from a lady, she insisted on carrying them out of her basement, up thru the bulkhead, then handing them to me for loading into my truck. I told her I could do all the work (paying only $50 for Vermont's, I would have been happy to do all the work), but she was happy to help. Not like she was hiding anything - that was the last thing for her to get rid of as she was moved out to another house in town. Know a lot of women who heat with firewood only and they certainly don't wait for the menfolk to lug the wood to the door (or even out of the woods).

I know of several women like this, my honey is one of them-although we have different views of moving pellets indoors if at all possible. Mine stay nice and dry, hers are in the driveway.

Her and my idea of taking a day off to relax and rejuvenate on a weekend are very different. One of us will end up filthy after being out in the dirt all day. But hey, someone has to monitor the meat on the smoker

Different areas seem to call each of us. She will let sn*w pile up and drive over it if at all possible, while I will spend hours outside cleaning it down to pavement. I actually like being outside cleaning on a sunny day after a storm, she hates it. Me, I hate humid weather and it doesnt bother her

The boss had her garden, I had all the other yard chores and the stove and most of the canning. Now there are no stove chores and the yard work is hired out. Canning and gardening was cut way back and we both work at it.

Today we get one more smokey day, then the pattern changes big time.
The Madden Julian oscillation in the Western pacific is in the active phase and this always causes major changes in the weather for us.

Much much cooler temps (Struggling to reach 70's starting Friday) and then the "R WORD" is in the forcast.

July and August have been hot and dry here except a couple showers a week ago...

You can snap your fingers and start a fire

    Hmmmm
I drove heavy commercial for 25 years... My BP was never 130/80 even when I was a teenager...
ADD A BIT OF STRESS and it will go off into the ozones.

The meds did nothing but make me sick, so I tossed that stuff in the garbage.
Actually one med would get it down to around 130/70 but if I stood up quick I would nearly pass out.

I actually would tell the doctor that I have "white coat syndrome", which they patently decide doesn't exist. I say....I come in here, get a BP test, and I could walk out WITHOUT a DOT card. What if the doc had to take the BP test, and if he/she fails, they lose their license to practice medicine...I wonder if that would jack up their blood pressure a bit prior to their test......lol.....

oh, those gals abound, Bogie, but I will say, there's alot of guys like that too! We cant drive into your garage but can put the pellets into the garage with the lift. The folks want it in back, around the corner, etc......ask us why we arent carrying them over there.....so they themselves don't have to. Its NOT just a woman thing, trust me. And you look at some of those people....just back from the gym, all buff, but they dont really want to do any real work.....

White coat may not exist...but ANXIETY does and that's what causes the BP to spike.

Any anomalies that cause the body to produce stress hormones will drive the BP up

My Doc used to schedule my DOT physical late in the day and we would head off to her back office and hang out, have a coffee and BS a bit and then she would grab my BP quick before things could get hinky.
    Always worked well...

I'm not afraid of work, but I would still rather have someone else move the pellet bags
