Took my Model 60 Marlin to a smith today spending about $45 to have the action cleared, cleaned and oiled it had a shell jammed in it the last couple of years from when I couldn't get the bolt all the way back. Weak was I. Not bad for a '71 or so Model 60. The stores I bought my guns at are long gone.

Couldn’t ask for better weather than we have here this morning. 70° and a slight breeze to keep the bugs away. Took the dogs for a two hour walk. Enjoying every second of it because starting tomorrow we’re slated to get a week of humidity and rain.
    :)

Calling this project done. Do need to repaint the bird bath so it blends in better, but its probably 30 YO - I found it in an overgrown garden over by the swamp when I moved in. The broken pedestal (I assume they belong together) has sat in the back on the other side of the house since I moved in. Anyway, I digress, here is my finished sitting area that catches a nice breeze.

From the back porch (with a little zoom)
    finished from house.jpg

From directly in front of it
    finished straight on-closer.jpg

The right side log planter where I placed two Oriental Lilies and to either side are columbines. The previously planted ferns are there (except the one that something dragged off o_O) and I moved the poor sunburned hosta (on the right) from the driveway garden to this shaded area last weekend.
    finished right planter oriental lillies-columbine.jpg

The left log planter has two oriental lilliws. In the middle is a columbine and to the right is creeping winter berry. You can't see the foxglove that I blanted behind the planter a couple of weeks ago. It is spent, so I didn't feel too bad - besides, none of this was planned, it just happened, and I can always move the foxglove next year. finished left planter oriental lillies-columbine-creep winter berry.jpg

Those log planter have been in my shed since TSC had a wicked fall sale last year. I picked them up for around $20 each. Didn't have a plan for them, but figured I would find a use eventually .

Removed the saddle valve for the fridge water line and installed a sharkbite ball valve today.

It was a tight fit as there ave several tee's close to the cut which meant not much pipe movement to work the new valve in. I had to put more side pressure that I wanted on the pipes to get it in but in it went. A sudden slight quick movement made me say oh chit, hope I didnt break a solder joint somewhere. Dont see any issue and so far so good.

20/20 hindsight when I put in the saddle valve years ago and I would have put it on another long pipe run about 6 feet away that would have been soooo much easier to get the new valve in. Had to plug the saddle valve hole ( cut that part out and put the valve there) so there was no choice.
